I watched the races in Rio this weekend and was pretty blown away by the coverage. My wife walked into the room as I was wacching the in-cockpit view and my head kept snapping over side to side as the pilot went knife-edge through the gates. I didn't even realize it till she pointed it out.
These guys are pulling 9+ g's on the turn arounds and the view of the pilot really shows how hard it must be to keep awake (and alive) during those maneuvers.
 
ARGGH!! Can't find it on DirecTV! :mad:

What channel do you get it it on? I searched with a TiVo wishlist and no luck.

I saw a little bit yesterday on one of the FOX sports channels on DirecTV... Not sure exactly which one though.

I've got a Wishlist setup for Interests/Aviation, and it looks like it's on 4 of the FOX sports channels tonight at 6pm Eastern.

I think the one I watched a little bit of was the one from Rio, and one of the pilots (Kirby Chambliss I believe) had a prop strike. After he was done, I think he had a DQ, the a/c nosed over as he was coming to a stop.

At the Indy Air Show yesterday they had a display promoting the race in San Diego. Pretty cool.

Fox Sports and Speedvision are the only two stations I've ever seen it on. As long as you have fast internet, the online coverage that they do it pretty impressive (not that I've ever watched the air races while at work, or anything...)

of course not im sure there were airplanes to wash or gas to pump. you would never surf the web or watch movies while working.

I get it on FSN (Fox Sports Network).
It's not on often, but now that I've had a taste, I'm gonna keep lookin'
