Kent, what's your plan for coming to Houston? I'd love to try to get together with you before I go off to PHX if you're going to be in town in time. I leave the AM of 12/22.
Ted, I sympathize with your "loss," but I have to say that at 23 you got no business getting married anyway. Go figure out who YOU are first, and then find someone who goes along with that. At your age you should be shopping, not buying (so to speak). I thought of getting married at 23, and to think now about being married to said person gives me the willies. In my late 20s it clicked with me who I was and what I wanted out of life. THEN I was ready to make that commitment.

Am I lucky, then, or stupid?
Cathy and I are coming up on 18 years, so I know where you're coming from.Am I lucky, then, or stupid? Celebrating 25 years next April, and if this is practice, then I must have missed the big game. My wife likes to fly, so I guess I stumbled on the right one ab initio (Ken, you can ask your wife what that means...).
but would put you out.
Am I the only one that had to read that slowly, about 10 times, before I understood what was being said? My mind automatically shifts two of those words.
I almost certainly won't be there that early. When are you gonna be back?
Ok, as the thread starter I'm going to ask that everyone kindly refrain from any further talk about marriage on this thread - be it mine or their own. The only reason I brought up the end of my engagement was as to why I'm now backing out of Peggy's generous offer.
Further posts please be related to what this thread was supposed to be about.
Ted, don't ya know. Thread creap is a given and usually suggests that it was a good well read thread that spawnd disscussion. Most orignal posters take it as a compliment!
I second that motion.*smacks Jesse with a large trout*

I second that motion.
Did you mean that emotion
Best,
Dave
No I think she ment the motion of slugging Jesse with a fish.
Good, we have enough for an official smacking of Jesse with a large trout.
Everyone get in line and commence smacking!
You see, though, what we really need to do is smack a large trout with Jesse, via throwing him in the river at Gaston's.
To Dave and Spike: Dang, I'm going to Dallas (Arlington really) around Christmas. Is anybody left?...Troy?
Why would you all want to insult the trout by throwing Jesse in the river at Gastons?
(by the way, can I hit him with a large bass, if I bring my own?)
Because THEN you end up with shrimp all over the place! With a trout, you can hang on to the trout, wash it and cook and eat it later! Or smack Jesse with it again!
Well, Friday is approaching pretty quickly. How's the weather looking?
Crappy.
Looks like maybe a later Saturday departure *might* work, which would be just fine with me. I'll have to look again tomorrow.
That's exactly how I feel right now! Gotta love the flu!
Oh wait:
Well, either way I won't be along for the ride, I just want to know if I'll be getting visitors tomorrow.
Nope. Friday night has been cancelled due to freezing rain. That's exactly how I feel right now! Gotta love the flu!
