Anybody have any experience in laser bird deterrence systems?

I’ve noticed there is an increasing amount of use of automated laser bird deterrence systems around airports and agricultural buildings, do they work? Do they cause nuisance issues? I know that lasers and airplanes don’t mix so I find it odd they are used at airports, I can’t help but think any reflective surface (or even a puddle of water) could potentially flash a pilot during one of the most critical times of flight?? I do not fly out of any airports that have the budget to install them so have zero experience.
