Yea I saw this a few days ago. Went down east of the airport I fly out of. Very sad.

I landed at FRG as the Blackhawk came in ahead of me on the taxiway.

He was cleared to do T&G's on 33. The article below says the NTSB has ruled out mechanical failure.

I know one of them had just got thier CFII I think initial only earlier this month. Another crash in KHVN CFI was only instructin for 3 weeks. Lost engin and tried to turn back, stalled it in.

Have to wonder who is giving training and signing these guys off.

Let's see what the NTSB finds. Was very gusty that morning in the region so I'm sure that will be looked into as a potential factor.
