Nope no water nearby. A neighbor says it's a screech owl but I have my doubts.

Well I know it's not lambs because all we have are 5 bulls and two horses by the house. That's two votes for screech owls now.

You guys need to get out of the city more often.

Most of the critters make sounds. Even the bats in daytime (they chatter) and squirrels (they chirp).

The donkey next door "chimes" every hour or so- he kinda has to "wind himself up"
... then we have the owl (not a screecher) that hangs out in the trees off the deck (he's quite the hoot)
... Ever have a coyote playing in your front yard - yipping like it want's to play
... and then there is the sound of a bunny getting pounced on by the coyote
... Raccoons are more like ghosts - something moves and you wonder what it is
... whip-poor-wills are kinda cool - and that is the sound they make all summer "whip-poor-will"
