And you thought you had a tough road to your pilot's certificate

I've heard of this very determined lady before, but hadn't seen her in action. Looks like the only thing she can't do quite the same way as anybody else is put on the seatbelt, and even that doesn't stop her. Amazing!

She was on the Ellen Show yesterday. She is an inspiration to one and all. She is a inspirational speaker and I bet she is a good one. She tours some High schools and gives these talks. She is quite a lady. Bob

thats just awesome.

i believe i saw an article about here a while back where she had a Tshirt on that said "look ma, no hands"

That was fabulous! Kate, note the Able Flight T-shirt she was wearing! She is so flexible. Holding the access panel above her head with a foot while doing the preflight. At first I thought someone was reaching in there to hold it up for her, but no, it's all her!

I saw this on the news and was totally impressed with this young woman. What determination and drive!

Another successful Able Flight scholarship recipient!

Jessica was also on Inside Edition recently although I didn't see it yet (nor the Ellen Show).

Hopefully she inspires others to learn to fly.

Seriously, amazing!

My mind boggles at the idea of rudder and radio control with how she's seated, but wow. What determination!

no rudder control necessary, its an ercoupe.

and i bet that if she can write with her feet, she can steer the wheel and hit a PTT

Jessica is a cool person. I'm really happy that she was able to accomplish this.

Here is her website.

Notice that they didn't go on the flight with her; they mounted cameras in the plane. :( Giving them the benefit of the doubt, though, two people and professional cameras in an Ercoupe might push W&B a bit.
I think the idea was to show that she's really doing it on her own.

I'm sure a lot of people would not fly with her, but I'll bet she doesn't care very much... not much more she can do to change stubborn attitudes other than showing she can do it.

What, like anyone would believe a newscaster could actually fly a plane?:yikes:

(Actually, that's not fair:nono:. I know of at least one Chicago reporter who's a pilot.
