Hi everyone.

I am working on putting together an "enhanced package" ride in the ASU altitude chamber here in the Phoenix area. The full brochure and description of the course is here:

https://www.faasafety.gov/files/events/WP/WP07/2015/WP0760148/ASU_Altitude_Chamber.pdf

The location of the course and chamber is at Williams Gateway Airport - Arizona State University Campus on Power and Sossaman. 7108 E. Tiburon Ave, Mesa, AZ 85212.

If we have 9-12 students, the cost is $325.
If we have 13-14 students, the cost is $250.

I believe a Saturday course would probably work best for everyone. Ground training is in the morning, with the chamber ride after lunch.

If you are (seriously) interested in participating, please send me an email, reply to this message, or PM with your full name, email address, and phone number (in case of any last minute changes). Also, include a list of Saturday dates in the next couple months that would _NOT_ work for you. I will try to work around these so we can best fit everyone's schedule. Note, an FAA medical (any class) is required for participation.

Please forward this to anyone you feel might be interested. Once I have a date, I will re-confirm with everyone who has expressed interest. Payment will be made directly to ASU.

Thanks,
Dan

It'll be a great experience for you for sure! If you want to do it again, the FAA usually does altitude chamber flights at local Air Force bases not sure if they charge anything or not.

I did it while I was in the Navy many years ago at Aircrewman Candidate School. They videotaped us playing cards and paddy cake and what not and then we watched it later. It was pretty interesting. I definitely remember the euphoric type feeling at the early onset...get kinda giggly and silly...from there it goes downhill fast.

Great experience if you can attend. I wouldn't mind doing it again to see how I handle it these days. I keep the finger gadget in my plane with me and haven't had any problems flying at 9500/10500 for 2-3 hours...still in the mid-90's.

This is the only one I found locally. Looks inexpensive enough...

Very interested. As long as I am not scheduled to fly that day, I am in.
