Q08 old identifier for Smoketown, Pa. Changed several years ago. We had to start hiding even then, apparently. Had to do with the addition of the Q-routes, If I recall correctly.I think Q is going to be a challenge....
We foreigners use the "C".
I'm sitting here in view of the tower ar CYYC right now... and I've been to CYQR, when it was -25C.
Those Y's are better than mine!Awww, Mari... I really wanted Y!

Ancient history.post 20.
That looks like it's next to a huge racetrack... I'll bet your AP is busy on race days with pilots going to watch the action!

Yep. It's across the road from the Atlanta Motor Speedway - two NASCAR races per year. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I haven't been in town for a race yet - out of town for business in March and flew to Iowa for Labor day. When we left two days before the race on Labor Day, we taxiied by a ramp full of private jets with racers' names painted on the tails. Sleepy little airport until race weekend when landing fee goes up to $100.
only one race next year, labor day if i remember right.

Isn't that the place you drive to the middle of the bridge over the Licking River and turn right?ZZV... Zanesville, OH. The best place ever in Ohio! 30 minutes away from Longaberger baskets!
Yes I think q is going to be the sticker.[
According to world-airport-codes.com...There are no public use airports in the US that the identifier starts with Q.
Well, I went looking for the same info in the same place - There are several Q's in the US on that site, but most of them are "Van Service" or somesuch.
I did find two that I can't figure out: QNY and QWG. If you punch them into AirNav, they come up as 6N7 and 8A6, respectively. I'm not sure how that works, and there is no mention of those ID's on the site, but clearly somehow they're able to look things up based on those ID's.
I've even been to two of them, Port Hardy, BC and Camp Guernsey, WY.Why are those weird?
