I saw the Air Line Pilot's AssociationUnited MEC Strike Preparedness Committee picketing in front of Motorola's Schaumburg headquarters this morning.

More than 60 United pilots and their families carried picket signs saying, "Glenn Tilton=Bad Travel Experience"; "We're Here For You Everyday. Glenn's Not"; "Had A Bad Travel Experience? Tell Us At www.GlennTilton.com"; and "Had Enough? So Have We. Glenn's Gotta Go" during today's Informational Picketing event at Motorola World Headquarters.

Edit: Actually, it looks like it is the United MEC Strike Preparedness Committee that organized the picket, not ALPA. I just found the writeup on ALPA's site.

Mebbe Schaumburg is as close as they could get to United HQ in Elk Grove?

I could say something else about United....too easy.

It was mentioned elsewhere on the site that Motorola is apparently one of United's largest customers. When they switched from AA to UA last year, there were apparently concerns about labor relations at UA and whether that would affect Moto.

United left Elk Grove for a new and very expensive office building downtown during bankruptcy. Based on what I've heard, you would never know it was an airline when walking into the lobby. No pictures of airplanes, airports, pilots, or flight attendants or anything to suggest an aviation link. Not surprising from a management that has no interest in actually running an AIRLINE.

Grant I don't want to hijack your thread, but has anyone else wondered why Motorola hasn't gotten into the aviation headset area? :dunno:

They certainly have the NFL sideline headset area covered - just really try to look closely to see the teeny tiny Motorola logos on the headset. :D

I shared a jumpseat with a very senior pilot of y'all's and boy did he have an opinion on Tilton and all of the UA management! Not that's really much of a surprise.

Motorola does not make those headsets. They are made by Telex from what I have heard. Motorola is just a name sponsor.
