All of the Airline Crew wanna be's need to celebrate

I think all the airports flew their flags at half staff when he died.

I've only had ramen noodles like three times in my life.

They're a great, fast, cheap, versatile carb. Lightly sauté up your basic onion, celery, carrot, blend in the pot, maybe add some meat, add water and seasoning and bring to a boil. Add the brick of noodles and sink it, drop an egg or two on top of it and let it all simmer for 3-5 minutes depending on how well done you want the egg. Pour it in a bowl and add a big stripe of wasabi and a bit of soy sauce.

You can do much the same in a frying pan, parboiling the noodles then frying them.

They're just a simple, cheap, fast, noodle is all.

Ramen noodles the staff of life for, poor college kids. Great foe a snack or a meal, depending on what you add to them.

Oh how I wish my parents had named me MomoFuku

Desperate measures call for ramen noodles. Hehe :)

Don't forget the Sriracha....brings a whole new meaning to Ramen.....

I keep a microwaveable bowl and a few packs of ramen noodles at my desk at work in case I either forget my lunch or what I brought isn't enough to fill me up.

I don't get Ramen Noodles. I like them OK, but their just carbs. Lots of cheap carbs out there. Quality protein, and fruits, and vegetables are what is expensive.

I have gone all my life without ever touching a package or eating them.

Ramen is delicious. Instant Ramen not so much... that being said I will still eat them but I usually just through them in some boxed stock. Helps keep me from swelling up from the sodium.

What College kid actually does all that? That's like borderline real cooking right there. Everyone I know just followed the directions on the back, boil 2 minutes, stir in flavor packet, enjoy your $0.25 meal.

In college I just cooked what was in the packet. Now I add stuff. #fanceh

Big yes. When it's done fresh and correctly, it's one of the best bowls of soup going.

Oklahoma doesn't have any phenomenal ramen. I travel quite a bit to Hawaii though and ramen there is top notch.

We do however have some great Pho places, which is basically Vietnamese ramen.

Correct, but you can stay pretty healthy and energized, cheap and easy with Ramen and Ensure. If you buy both in bulk a $5 a day budget will keep you going. Ramen doesn't even need cooking, you can let it soak in room temp water and make jail Ramen.

You can supplement with local in season fruit and veggies from people's yards along with road kill to add to your diet.

I love Ramen noodles although I usually add some veggies and an egg or little bit of leftover meat. Have loved them since childhood, and it doesn't have anything to with the cost.

Actually, that sounds really good.

Sounds like a great idea for Lunch during the Gaston's event!! Bring your recipe and cooking implements and I'll help prepare!

I was almost going to point out that it is too hot at Gaston's for Ramen. Then I realized it was going to be in the fall...

It's still in Arkansaw...
True...

An additional factor (besides the fact that I have no clue what I will be doing in the fall) is that I'm not sure I want to impost my "cooking" on anyone.

C'mon, give it a shot!

Of course, we live well, we get:

Jambalaya from Leslie...
Cookies from Danielle...
Pie from Sharon...

After that, we're in heaven!

I worked with a guy that would just peel back the wrapper, sprinkle the mix on the noodles and eat the noodles dry.

I have been to a few restaurants in bush Alaska that had ramen noodles on the menu. At 5 bucks a bowl, it was the cheapest item on the menu.

When I lived in a pilot house in Alaska I had a case under the bed for survival food. Fortunately the times when the power went off I still had enough real food. I wonder if that case is still there?
