We're planning the 3rd(!) Annual AirVenture Irish Trad Music Session! We're tentatively scheduled for Thursday night (7/24) at 7 p.m. at the Ultralight Forums tent.
It's been growing a little bit each year, so we're looking forward to seeing even more musicians this time. I'd love to have more fiddles join, but all Irish instrumentalists are welcome. Last year, we had Mitch Loiselle of Banterra Aircraft Finance provide pizza and beer, and we had a great time. Things are still up in the air (ha!) this year, so we're playing it by ear (ha!). I'm flying in this time instead of driving, so we'll see if we can round up some folks to bring water. Hope to see some of you there!

Are you excited about flying? Are you excited about traditional Irish music? Are you especially excited about both flying and Irish music? This year at AirVenture 2025, the Flying Musicians Association is hosting the third annual trad seisiún on Thursday night.
All attendees are welcome, especially those who play an instrument associated with Irish music—be it fiddle, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, concertina, button accordion, bodhrán, guitar, banjo, or mandolin. We’re inviting musicians of all skill levels, and we’ll find some tunes for you to join in. We even have opportunities for some singing!
For those who perform Irish dance—be it céilí dance, step dance, or anything else—you’re welcome to join the fun. Maybe rope in some spectators and show them how it’s done!
Finally, for those who don’t dance or play an instrument, come on down! We need enthusiastic clappers, foot stompers, and cheerers.
This is our chance to show off some Irish music and culture at the world’s greatest aviation gathering—and have a fantastic time together!
