WASHINGTON - Regions-Air is suing the Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, alleging they illegally shut down the air carrier that served four Illinois cities.
Regions-Air filed the lawsuit Monday in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C,, seeking $11.6 million plus interest.
The FAA grounded all Regions-Air planes in March after taking issue with the air carrier's line check airman certification and training program.
Regions-Air contends Durbin lobbied for the shutdown.
