Of course having a light weight plane is key. I have to lean forward when i start to move or the front wheel of the cart will come off the ground. Once its moving it works great.

I've got a similar scooter that has done well for me over the last 4 years but I'm planning on lengthening the frame, adding a new axle and re-gearing it with different wheels & tires.


I thought about buying some surplus zero-turn mower hydro units and building a tug from scratch but I really don't like the idea of a noisy gas engine over the silent electric power chair solutions.

Sadly my welding skills suck, but on the bright side this thing works fantastic. I tried it out with a one-piece solid rear axle (eliminating the differential function) and it added so much drag I didn't like it.

Pfft, that's nice work, tell people you were being "artistic" with the welds. The only thing I would do different is move the outside pillow blocks as far outside as you can get them, but as long as the chain stays on and the axels don't bend that will be great.

I wanted to weld the extensions under the original frame tubes but they are formed with a bend from the factory so being lazy ended up welding them on the side which messed up the spacing of everything.

Its not easy running a grinder with one badly scarred hand so I lack there too.

I think what I'm going to do next is put a ball hitch on the front. Right now I Just hook the handle of the towbar on the steering shaft to pull and opposite to push. I'm thinking of taking a like a 3" wide steel strap and fitting it around the steering shaft and around the seat mounting tube. The strap will just kind of float there, a ball out front to connect to a coupler I'll weld to a new towbar extension.
