My friend recently lost his orange Grumman that I've posted here when the tip of his prop came off. Due to the violent shaking, they decided to total it. Now he bought a 172 and his wife loves riding in it... she can see the ground!

Even though it was a cloudy, stormy day, we decided to attempt a photo shoot. Hope to do another one with better light soon.

Awesome! New airplanes are sexy, but nothing beats a classic in great light!
 
I've always liked the old straight tails.

Canon 5d Mark III for the B25. 24-105 lens, F11, 30", ISO 100
 
Jack, did you find the leap from 5DMkIII to the IV to be worth the price? I'm exploring upgrading, but the new features (to me at least) don't seem worth the $$$. Thanks!

Not really, at least not yet. I've just now got it dialed in, so I'll really put it through its paces over the next couple of months, but so far, other than the bigger files I don't think you could tell the difference in the photos. I kept my M3 so I have a backup that uses the same batteries and memory, but I think I could have done just as well with another M3 and saved a few bucks.
 
That is pretty much in line with others I know of that made the upgrade. I've been a Canon shooter since the early 2000's (with my 35mm Rebel I received as a gift!) but am seriously considering going to a mirrorless system. Most of my photography is travel based and is another expensive hobby of mine. I feel that C and N are seriously losing ground to the other brands due to a lack of innovation. Time will tell!

Great photos. I'd love some shots of my airplane, but I doubt I can slow down enough.

I like it, but I just can't say it's much better. The extra photo size may help in cropping though. Time will tell. And trust me... I know about how expensive it gets. I'm trying to make money to cover some of the expenses, not going to get rich!

Any chance you'll be in Palestine for the C2O formation clinic on Sunday (6/12)? You obviously don't need any practice but I'd be happy to buy you lunch if you come up. I really enjoy the photos you post and it would be nice to meet you.

I hadn't heard of it until now. I can always learn something new. I'll see if my friend wants to fly up in the 170. It would be good to meet some more POAers!
 
That's a great looking straight tail. The one I flew didn't have much paint left on it.
