At Oshkosh last year, I got the opportunity to take photos of one of the most talked about planes there. You have to spend a lot of money and time to make a plane look this bad!

Nice, bet the tires slow it down just a little. One of my friends has a Scout w/O-360 and said he is lucky to get 100kts with the large tires. Said he was going one size smaller when they wear out.

Great photos as usual Jack.

Congratulations on another cover photo. I’m seeing your name in a lot of publications now. It’s great to see your planning and hard work paying off.

My definition of a "rat" ride is obviously VERY different than everyone else's definition.

Cannot...unsee.

Great photos as always, but those graphics are hideous!

Yeah, I thought the same thing. What is a rat ride about that. Except for an ugly paint job and that has nothing to do with anything. I've been riding and driving rat rides since before there was ever a name for them. LOL

Another set of great photos Jack. What did you/they do to punch up the colors from the original photo for the cover photo?
And a congrats for the nice set in the latest Vintage Airplane too.

Shifted them toward yellow, mostly. Even the geography got molested.

I actually like the paint/wrap scheme, rat rod or not. It has good contrast and definitely stands out versus the regular ol' yellow cub. The stripes on the wing tips/elevator tips bring the whole thing together.

The photo work is great as always, Congrats on the cover.

I just realized it is a "rat" because the paint is supposed to look like rusty patina? Too cutesy for someone like me that actually enjoys real rat rods and rat rides like this one I saw at my A&P school a few years back:

I think it's a cool plane (aside from whether the Rat Rod title is fitting or not)
I actually got this magazine in the mail and thought of Jack lol.
Great shots again!

Trust me, for everyone that thinks this plane is ugly... I've shot worse. I've even shot worse at Oshkosh... much, much, worse. I can't wait to see the comments when that plane makes the magazine!!

Wow! That first picture is AWESOME! Looks like multiple light sources hitting it from different directions ... great photo!
