Man it seems like forever since I've taken air-to-air photos. Either the weather is too bad for people to fly in, or it's good with little warning! Finally got a good shoot in with a friend of mine. Much needed photo time.

Very nice!

How do we link up with you to get photos of our Denton based Skylane and Bonanza V35?

You should cut this out. I'm already yearning for a Bo one day, and shots like this don't help.

I can make it worse... I took these photos because he's selling this plane! :) It's a nice ride. I'm waiting on the details and will put it in the classified section.

When you do shoots like this, are you communicating with the other ship to direct him where you want?

Shots like that will definitely look better in the sale ad than the usual ramp photos.

Depends on who I'm flying with, but for the most part yes. This guy and I fly together a lot, so we discuss it ahead of time and I mostly let him do what he wants. I think I told him once to come to my 9:00 and once I told him to go down 100'.

With most pilots, we do a briefing ahead of time and then in flight I move them around slowly. For example, "Come up 10 feet", "Come forward 20 feet". Getting the planes lined up with the scenery can be the hardest part.

Wow, those are nice, especially the one centered over the green patch and the one fully over the lake. Nice work!

Yep. I bet ads with air-to-air shots will tend to sell quicker than ramp only. Especially if the plane looks good and a pro like Jack does the work.

Thanks. And if someone buys this plane, I'll throw in all of these photos and more. I'll even do a shoot with the new owner!

Awesome pics. It's gotta be tough to set up the background while both vehicles are in motion.

That plane does not belong on the ground (it looks like the airborne one's ugly sister).

No plane looks as good on the ground as in the air!

It's not too bad to get the pics setup. I tell them generally where I want them to fly before we take off. I usually tell them to go about a mile or two North of a river for example. Sometimes they nail it, sometimes we have to adjust. That and I take a lot of pics and sometimes capture scenery I didn't mean to, good or bad. I got a lot of crap on another forum once because I was complaining I got a lot of pics of trailer houses. They thought I was being a snob. I was just saying I'm so focused on the plane that sometimes I don't even realize what is below and get pics that don't have the best scenery!

Another great job. I also really like the lake shot, the water is a perfect background for the gorgeous airplane, interesting scenery at the top left, and the little peninsula seems to be pointing out the airplane. Nice!

Getting rid of that boomerang on top would help both, lol.

Agree. I always think the older Bonanzas look awkward with that ugly antenna perched up top.

One of my favorite things about posting photos here is when someone feels they need to make a negative comment about someone else's plane! Not sure what we would do without that.

Lol, the plane is fine, and the pictures are great. It's just that the boomerang antennas ruin the clean lines of most aircraft. It's not so much about "feeling the need to be negative" so much as it's a reflection of what I see when I look at the aircraft as if I were a buyer. It's not a deal-breaker, but certainly a relic of older tech.

Sorry, I'm a little grumpy this morning, just hit me wrong! Not that you did this, but I've posted photos before and had people start telling me what I should do to fix the plane. It's not my plane, I'm just taking the pics.

... and now I can't "unsee" that antenna!

Sorry about that...Seriously though you should come out to Sun and Fun and advertise your services. I think you would do well there! I would pay for it...nicely done photos!

Awesome shots and fantastic airplane. Love the tip tanks and boomerang antenna on Bonanza's.

Thanks. I would like to come out, but I've been invited to OSH this year! Can't afford to hit too many of the events.

Thanks!

Good thing you are shooting digital film! Nice work
Thank you. Yeah, no kidding on the digital. I've been known to take 3000.

Only 500? You're better than most professionals.
Yeah, to be honest I usually take a lot more. We had a terrible headwind and decided about halfway to our destination that we didn't have enough time to get there. I was going sparingly since the better landscape is further out.

Great pics.

I flew the Swift in an air to air magazine photoshoot and we got some stellar results. There is a lot of work that goes into good air to air pictures (like these) and I have a new respect for the pics we see in AOPA etc...

Purdy, as usual!
Thanks Lou!

Especially when the plane owner wants something specific! It can be fairly easy, it can be a challenge!

Thanks Rob. PM me your email address again.

Fantastic shots!
Thanks.

Beautiful...didn't you say you were in CenTex? :D
Yep! NW of Austin. We're in the farmland area, but we've sure got some beautiful areas out here.

Thanks to all for the great comments and support. I love taking the pics!
