So, the business case for point to point has gotten less bad, but the costs of airfare+car+time vs airfare+car still seems be difficult to grow this into a $15 Billion industry.

Air taxi has always been there, nothing's really changed that much over the years. The profit margins are still razor thin and the insurances costs are ever higher.
