Well, I WAS going to be a copilot, but something came up, so now I'm not. Although my Garmin 496 will be in the race. :)

Marijke has a few challenges to deal with. I hope that she does well. :yes:

What all is involved at an airport that is included in the race? Do you have a certain function that you have while it is going on?

Will you be coming to Gaston's?
 
If anyone in the Denver area is interested in helping out we are still looking for volunteers on Friday and Saturday all day and Sunday morning (June 19, 20, 21). :)
 
Arrgh, CPA's mountain course is that weekend.

One of my mechanic's daughters is flying in the race. She's just turned 18 IIRC and will be flying an older Mooney her dad put together for her. She will have two other pilots with her, one is a flight attendant for some airline and has an instrument rating (someone on the plane must be IR capable even though the race is run in VMC. I'm the one who is in charge of rounding up volunteers to help with the pre-race inspections. You do not need to be an A&P to help. Basically all we are doing is seeing if the airplane has its proper paperwork and if it is indeed the airplane listed on the application form. We are also marking the attach points of the engine and prop to make sure that people aren't changing them enroute. We are doing these inspections on Friday June 19 from 9 to 5, Saturday June 20 from 9 to 4:30 and Sunday Jund 21 from 10 to noon.
