Ahhh crap....

Hmmm, wonder if he'd want to stop by the house for a day or two. I grew up in St. Louis.... wait, it's winter in St. Louis...nevermind.
This has been the warmest winter I can remember in St. Louis(but I did just move from Alaska). Today its about 60deg for the high and 50deg for the low and raining.

Damn women... Can't live with 'em......... and can't shoot 'em.

That sucks dude. If you make it to So. Fla via Iowa, I'm sure Tony and I can show you around the corn patch up here.

Take 'er easy..

Sorry about your breakup, man. No matter the nature of the cause, breakups hurt. Don't put yourself down over it, okay? Sending some hugs and good thoughts for you.

Well, that sucks, Henning.

I'm up for part of the trip, if the timing & route works out. I may be moving the plane to the east coast at some point.... If you make it down this way, drinks on me.

Well that BLOWS especially the manner in which it occurred. And she wants you to pay out the rent. Oh my side hurts. Well Free Burgers for you at the Wings Fly B Q. Upward and onward to better things and people.

Bummed for you Mate. Reminds me of my Girlfriend in Ocean Beach,CA. I supported her for over two years and she ran away with my best friend to Mexico when he reached EAOS in the Navy.........I sure do miss him!.

Regards.
KD

Wow. That sucks. It's also really, really spooky. You see, I'm also planning to move home from New Zealand because my wife recently announced she fell in love with somebody else. In her case it's her married boss (he even has a kid, but thankfully we don't). We'd been together 13 years, and I'm only 32. Anyway, guess where they were when they decided they'd fallen in love? Brisbane!

Couples: Our extremely large sample size and experimental study has indicated that staying away from Brisbane would be a really, really good idea.

If you want to hop the Tasman and do some flying in NZ, my couch is available. I've even prepaid a bunch of hours in an AA1C at the local aeroclub.

The first week or so sucks, there's no two ways about it. I had to run out of work and around the corner to huddle in a sobbing ball on the grass next to the runway. It will get better, though. At this point I'm actually glad she had an affair. It brought out all the problems with our relationship that neither of us were really aware of. We could have wasted years trying to nurse along a relationship that was doomed to fail. This way was sudden and painful, but it also saved a lot of time.

Chris

Tom,
Put me down for halves on dinner. My pro rata share on the "road trip"
You've got it - hell, I expect there's a bunch of us PoA'ers around here that would love to have dinner with ol' Henning - I can come up with half a dozen right off the bat! :)

Henning, ya gotta make it happen through NC, buddy!

Make it 25+ and I will cook a pig! Treat all to some REAL down home eastern North Cackalacky BBQ!!

Still remember the Dearest Dave when on my first tour in RVN; I'm very sorry for anyone else getting anything like that.

Would love to meet you if you get back this-a-way. Put me down for a leg (of the trip <g>) if you do the relay by GA deal.

Best,

Dave
If we can get him in Texas, we can have some of the Lone Star contigency meet up at a BBQ joint somewhere. . .

Regards.

Wait for tommorrow, or better yet, February. But, I may want to stop in. All my near dear friends for the most part still live there and I haven't seen them in about 5 years.

Well, I just had an extremely s**tty night. My girlfriend of 3 years just returned from a two week art class and announced that she had fallen in love with someone else and was leaving. sigh... Well, looks like I'll be coming home.

Well that pretty much sucks. Count your blessings it didn't happen
after you'd married her. Having been dumped a couple times and divorced
once, I can say that it gets better after the initial shock. We just never
know what life's going to throw at us.

That absolutely bites. Sorry to hear that, brother. I can't imagine you needing a lift through PA/Mid atlantic area, but the Sundowner is at your service should you be in the area. Somewhat pedestrian transportation given some of the birds you've flown, yes, but it's the best I can do. :D

Come home, where people love you. Art class? Honestly!

We're called Seppos over here, cause Yank rhymes with Septic Tank, and regardless of what you have been seeing on the TV there with the G'day USA media/propoganda push, the majority of Aussies hate Americans.

Some (but not all) of the Aussies I've know pretty much hated anyone from any other country, not just Americans.

But for the silver lining... does this mean Henning can make it to the Gaston's fly-in this summer?

I just want to tell everyone I really appreciate the warmth and support of everyone here. It's made this situation a bit less painfull. The really strange thing is that over the last week, before I knew this transpired two dear friends from my past that I haven't spoken to in years, over a decade in one case, sent me e-mails to get in touch (kinda reaffirms my faith in God). Gotta thank Google and a unique name for that.

So, here's a tentative on my plans to see how it'll all work out. I'll fly into LAX in the next week or two and if I could hitch a ride from that area to Las Vegas, I'd like to stay a few days there with my friend Amie and meet her kids and catch up. She was one of my two best friends in my San Diego Ocean Beach days and has as bizzare of a life as mine and it's always cheering to talk with her as we share a sense of humor and a good bit of history. From there I really have no schedule or preferences of routing to Orlando where I'd like to stay a bit with Marie, a friend from back in highschool who is also going through a bit of a hard time, so we can cry on each others shoulders. I'm very gratefull for all the offers of rides and hospitality and really like the idea of meeting y'all. The pig roast in N Carolina sounds divine. Few things challenge a pig roast on my list of culinary delights. As for a TX BBQ, I'm always up for that. We just have to be high enough crossing Clay County that my ex doesn't smell me and try to shoot us down. Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their support.

Oh yeah, if any of the Florida people have a cheap car for sale, I'll need one.

Thanks, I can use the hug.

OMG!!!! Is she nuts????? You're a man's man, and a woman's dream...an incredible catch! What was she thinking? :dunno:

Well, I feel badly for you Henning. Doggonit. :(

If you're passing through, come stop by the farm and stay a spell. We'll put you to work on the farm after a few days of R&R. :)

Thanks Diana, you're a sweetheart. We'll see how the routing works out. Take care of them fish...

Sounds like you're better off without her. If you go to PHX before Las Vegas, you can take my Cherokee to Las Vegas for the week. Then when you come back to PHX, I can get you to Albuquerque. (I have Avemco Insurance, anyone with a PPL can borrow my plane) I know, it's only a 140, but if you fly it solo, she climbs ok. :D

Or If you need a ride from Vegas to somewhere else, let me know. I've got a buddy with a TR182 and he's always wanting to fly to Colorado, or just about anywhere for that matter.

In any case, hang in there! She's obviously not worthy!

Thanks, kind words and kind offer. Problem is my US Medical is expired right now as is my BFR, so I won't be able to PIC till I'm back and get that out of the way.

She is worthy. The worst thing to see was the sketches she did of the model (her "soulmate"), they are exquisite and when she combines that with her talent for applying paint, the results will be fabulous. She has finally found how to capture the light. She's extremely talented.

Get a medical in PHX, then get your BFR in the Cherokee. Dr. James McCarville is only a few miles from Sky Harbor. I have a coupe of CFI's for your BFR.

I don't care how rusty you are, if you can't pass a BFR in the Cherokee, you should give up flying!

Sorry for ripping on her, it's just my instincts I guess.

Please accepy my apologies.

Some (but not all) of the Aussies I've know pretty much hated anyone from any other country, not just Americans.

It's really a third world country with pretentions, a huge inferioriy complex and a convict mentality. It's sad really because the country has great potential in resources, but there just isn't any "value added". As just one example, they have a large reserve of Uranium. Now, rather than refining the ore and selling fuel rods at a premium, they are selling the mining leases to the Chinese. Not even the mined ore, but the mining rights so the Chinese can bring in cheap miners.... Everything is done on a minimum effort basis.

Thanks for that, but my heart just isn't in it at the moment and flying is something you have to have your head 100% around or you die, plus money is gonna be tight until I get things rolling again. This country has eaten a lot of money with little opportunity to replenish stocks, plus I'll lose 26% on exchange. Once again, I'll be coming home on a shoestring to rebuild...sigh. I'm getting too old for this crap.

As to your comments about her, no worries mate, I'm just a bit maudlin & morose.

No problem. Keep that in mind if your plans change.

When your trip gets closer, post the info and we'll see if I can get you from Vegas to Alburqurque. Then from there you can go and have Texas BBQ with Cowboy!

I just got three racks of BabyBacks from Costco yesterday. I'm gonna smoke-em today with some mesquite. I can smell'em allready.

Get that chin back up!

YOU ARE THE MIGHTY HENNING! :D ;)

Thanks Diana, you're a sweetheart. We'll see how the routing works out. Take care of them fish...
Henning we have an apartment in the hangar...you are welcome to stay here for as long as you want...free room and board. Tom will give you your Flight Review for free in our Skyhawk or the Citabria, and we can recommend a local AME. If you want to work around the farm while you regroup, we have LOTS of work to be done around here, including repairing machinery, and clearing trees at the ends of the runways.

If your trip across the country requires someone to fly a leg in this area, I'll volunteer.

I'm sorry you're hurting right now. These transitions are really tough to go through, especially this kind. You have lots of friends here who are willing to help you. This is a time to tap into that resource, and take some of us up on our offers.

Hugs from Missouri. :)

Henning, in addition to visiting with the two friends you mentioned, you really ought to consider taking Diana up on this. From what I know of Diana and Tom, this would be fantastically theraputic for someone in your "condition".

I still have the IAR reserved for a 600 mile leg on the southern route...

Henning, if you make it to NC, I'd be glad to do your FR (and IPC if you need one) for you in my 172 at no charge. You can buy lunch. Bill

Nothing to worry about--I got a boy that'll take care of that ex problem for you. :)

Nahhh, that's ok. Hows the song go, "All my exes live in Texas that's why I make my home in Tennessee"? She ain't bad, just crazy.

I am in the St.Louis area and can make arrangements for you to get your BFR here at UUV. My 172 is yours to use and I have a CFI bud who owes me a favor or two so we can get it done at no charge to you. I can also do a leg of your trip to FL as well if need be.
Just say the word and its yours.
