Hi Snugs,
Can you comment on any particular problems or delays you incurred?
I see my AME who is also a cardiologist in two days. I was referred to him by my first AME where I requested a Class 2 but he was unwilling to make all the necessary referrals I needed. I had AFib corrected with ablation 4.5 years ago and no AFib since. I haven’t actively flying so this is my first FAA medical after ~15 years. I think/hope I’ll pass everything readily.
(One item of note for all the AFib sufferers - there’s a controlled medical study out of Australia where 1/2 of the test group lost 10% of their body weight and they determined that that group did as well as those without weight loss and various treatments such as cardio ablation. Weight loss + treatment is even better).

No real problems but it took me several months to get all my testing done. I had to wait the longest to get the sleep study. Only because they were scheduling 8 weeks out. I didn't go see my AME until I had all my testing and paperwork complete and ready to send to the FAA. Then the frustration begins because you're just waiting for how ever long it takes for them to get to your file. About 8 months for me.Hi Snugs,

My appointments have been fairly quickly scheduled. Besides the aggravation of calls not returned and interminable time on hold it’s gone pretty well. I’m predicting 5-months start to finish. My understanding is the FAA has 60 days to respond once I’ve submitted everything. We’ll see.
