I know most of you live far away from here (why, oh why?), but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good aerobatic training places in this area.

I recently had my flight review with a pretty cool CFI who let me try spins (yeah, not a big deal, but I had never done them before). It's amazing what full left rudder can do during a power on stall. Good thing we didn't have parachutes or the plane would almost have inverted itself (or so it seemed :D). Now I just have to try some real aerobatics!

I can't imagine that they are cheap, but I do know of one school in the area. I remembered hearing about them on one of Jason Miller's podcasts.

The Tutima Academy of Aviation Safety was originally started by Sean D. Tucker (and still carries his name).

Listen to The Finer Points episodes number 4 and 64 for more information.

The IAC has a list here of a few places that offer aerobatic training. It can be searched by state.

I believe Sean Tucker is from the Salinas area, and has a school there teaching aerobatics.

Not 'close' to the Gray Area, ooops, Bay Area, but depending on how often you want to train, nothing like getting it from the best!

Attitude Aviation in Livermore has a nice selection of aerobatic airplanes. Although I've never done aerobatics with them I have rented their Waco.
