Aegis Missile Defense . . . . .

That is pretty amazing. I remember when the 1st Aegis ship was commissioned in the 70's. I can remember looking at my old steam powered destroyer and seeing the new one and thinking "I want a transfer!"
 
Yeah, but the old tub I was on could do "30kts and No Smoke". We were Nukular. USS Bainbridge, CGN-25. But the Meyer does indeed look really good.

Go nukes!!! I was on the Nimitz when we steamed from Naples to Gonzo Station in the Indian Ocean. Nimitz, Texas and California - all 3 nuke boats - better than 30 knots all the way around the Horn, with no stops/slowdowns/UNREPS for fuel. We did slow way down for shellback initiation - and then kicked 'em in the reactors again and away we went!
