News report claims the Bonanza was performing a go-around, veered off the runway, and crashed into the parked Twin Cessna. Evidently no fatalities.

Take your pick which news report you like best. The television news report thinks Unicom is ATC. The written news uses a "Cessna 180 coming in for a landing" from Shutterstock as the only picture in the report, but says the NTSB investigators stated that the plane "experienced a departure stall while performing a go-around."

For some reason that picture reminds me of the scene in Smokey and the Bandit where Buford T Justice tries to take off while still on the floor Jack and runs into the parked car with Junior on the hood…

Well, thank God no Pipers were hurt!

Reminds me of this incident while I was at Eglin.

I was there 91-96, 59 FS

I miss the Lions. I was happy to see them come back as a TES.

We had a great relationship with all three squadrons while I was there. Small world, we may have a couple of mutual acquaintances.
