I wonder what it SOUNDS like?
Part of the appeal of a performance oriented car is its sound.
Part of what many people dislike about diesels are the sound of the engine.

I feel so gay. Just traded in a F-150 for a Honda Fit. If I get another truck it will be a <$1,000 beater. Cars are crappy toys, we should all know there are way better vehicles to amuse ourselves with.

Final Approach
IMO, that is the best kind of truck to have. To me, a truck is for work and that's it. I really don't get the pick up truck as a daily driver/car thing at all.

Because my "daily driver" is a little aluminum can that if I get mad enough I could rip the door off with little trouble. The road noise is horrible, the ride is just like a little red wagon and the seats feel like they were designed by a chiropractor that did so to increase his business.
My diesel pickup rides better, handles better, is much quieter inside and has seats that make my back feel good. Not to mention that the visibility is much better fore and aft.
And my car is 6 years newer than my diesel pickup.

I just drove my ford and didn't worry, I sold it at 230k and I'm sure it's still kicking. I couldn't stand to DD it either, it was a blast on the open road but sucked to stop at the store.

If you want something even more amusing, take off another zero. Here's my airport car, $400** of pure fun. It's a lot faster to get to the farm landing strip by taking a straight line through the bush.
