63 Cherokee 180 overhead lights

Hello,
I am new to this forum and hoping you can help me with an electrical challenge on my Cherokee.

The overhead instrument light and nav lights are controlled by a DPDT toggle switch that can set the instrument light dim or bright. The dim setting no longer works. I have verified that both filiments on the bulb work and I have confirmed continuity on each position of the toggle switch.

Any suggestions where to look next?

Aircraft S/N? But looks like there's a resister inline for the dim setting which may have failed or has broken wire(s)?

The S/N is 28-1399. I'll take another look, but was previously unable to locate a resistor.

Do you think the resistor would be adjacent to the switch or perhaps closer to the bulb?
