It's odd to me that they diverted to Steamboat and not HDN. Hayden has a 10,000' runway and FAR less terrain to deal with.

Probably not. That thread said it was a 421B and the crashed plane is a 421C.

"The flight data shows the aircraft circling in the vicinity of the airport for 25 minutes before the crash." Was he trying to burn off fuel before landing?
It also says "interpreters from Integrated Community were called to the scene". Did it crash in an ethnic neighborhood?
