Well I was at work and have some bosses around that overheard I have a plane....

Sunday I gave 2 discovery flights and Monday I gave another. They really enjoyed themselves even with the 97* heat on the ground.

I kept it simple and took them to a different airport and showed them how to control the airplane with the yoke and rudders. Explainin everything in the process.

In their minds I'm the safest best pilot they have ever seen. All three said they would trust me to fly their children and wives. I was very grateful for such compliments. In my opinion I did really well and had great landings so I can see how they would feel at ease.

2 of them have already scheduled flight time around there house at a flightschool. And the 3rd is trying to talk his wife into it lol.

Good for you!! Keep spreading the word.

Way to go!

I wish our skywagon would learn how to land with people in it. Or when a crowd on the ground is watching.

Did you tell them the Cost for training $$$$$ That would be enough to scare them.

It was nice of you to give them rides. :D

well i explained everything involved.

For people in my industry, a plane is a write off and work vehicle. Typically we're 3-10 hours away by car. So my main point is saving time when you fly, and pursuing your ifr so your dispatch rate it high.

One of them just drove home today, 9 hours. He said "man it feels good to head home but I could be home in a plane in less then 3 hours. Driving sucks!"

That's what we need, good job, take every opportunity you can to further the GA cause.

IFR is the key. But even so, I imagine it next to impossible to fly for business in South Dakota, unless you have a flight department in the company and something like King Air. I only know one guy who flies for work in his own Bonanza, and he's based in Dallas. His business is selling pharmaceuticals.

Good job,

This is probably the only way GA is going to really move forward. We have to show the public that all small planes don't fall out of the sky.
