So, the old advertising tag line from Ford, “Pinto leaves you with that warm feeling” should not be spoken when the in-laws are present as well.??

I was a mechanic at a local Ford dealership when the ''fix'' came out for the Pinto. A light weight, flimsy plastic baffle that shielded the gas tank from being perforated by the rear differential. Cost about a dollar to make and paid me 2 bucks to install.

Epilogue: I did my track day at Chuckwalla. After four 20-minute sessions, consider the diff broken in!
