2013 College Football Thread.

That should have iced the game. MSU looks to be victorious.

Wow. What a crazy night of football. NC game should be a good one. IMO auburn is a better team than OSU, but I don't know if they can keep up with a strong fast team like FSU.

FSU is a very formidable opponent and will give Auburn a real test. I expect a much more exciting BCS championship game than Alabama stomping Notre Dame 42 to 14 last year. Auburn is the underdog and has been improving with each game. I anticipate the great State of Alabama supplying the national champions for the 5th year in a row.

We're still waiting to see FSU play. Their schedule is softer than OSU's.

Not a happy night:(:(
One of my partners is a big Ohio State fan and has been making derogatory comments about Auburn for a long time. I got tired of his bragging about being undefeated. He is a big OSU supporter and member of the President's club and would have been able to get tickets for the BCS championship game. I gloated unmercifully this morning and he deserved every minute of it. War Damn Spartans! War Damn Eagle!

Is that possible? OSU played two high schools and a couple Jr colleges! :nono: The only top 10 ranked team they played was Michigan State!
I'm not an FSU fan, I just can't stand Urban Meyer. :D

A former boss of mine is a Gators fan. Was a really hard 2006-2007 football/basketball season with him in the office.

I'm the boss, but I'm surrounded by Bama fans, they are fun to torment when they lose, of course it's not that often!:mad2::D

Duke and Clemson is it for FSU. But yeah,,ESPN has FSU's strength of schedule being weaker than OSU.

Not a bug Urban fan either, he rode Tebow's coattail then bolted at the first sign of trouble....and gave a BS story about why.

I agree. Idaho, Nevada and Bethune-Cookman aren't football powerhouses, but they brought the whooping stick to a very tough Clemson team. I've watched a few of their games, and they have good receivers and a very fast team. I'm an SEC guy and will be pulling for Auburn, but I think the game could go either way. I'm just glad OSU isn't playing because my gut was telling me that they weren't the right team.

Florida State had only one legitimate opponent in the entire season, Clemson which finished #12. Two if you count #24 Duke.

Auburn defeated four rated teams: Alabama, Missouri, Georgia, Texas A&M.

This should be a good game but I expect Auburn to prevail. War Eagle!

The problem with this system is a undefeated team is usually considered to be one of the top teams. I understand the argument, but when you look at the conferences, it's a lot easier for a decent team to go undefeated in the Big 10 or ACC vs the SEC. But, the NC should be a good game this year! :D

Don't forget the independents that go undefeated i.e. last year's Notre Dame. I don't think they were a top 5 team, and the NC showed that. The 4 team playoff won't be perfect, but IMO it is more fair. Sometimes there isn't a clear cut #1 or #2, but you would think the real #1 team would be picked out of the top 4.

The winners of each conference should all be put in a playoff, with a few wild card teams for the times you get the undefeated ND or others.

If you are good enough to be considered for the BCS undefeated teams should be posted above all teams with losses, regardless of "strength of schedule"

If you aren't good enough to go undefeated and be considered you shouldn't be in the BCS

It would have been a tragedy if OSU had been in the BCSNCG, undefeated or not, Notre Dame had absolutely no business in the BCSNCG last year either.

Yeah well hindsight being 20/20 and all that.

hindsight is 20-20, but the score was 42-14. A tremendously lopsided game. Everyone except the Notre Dame faithful knew Alabama was going to beat the crap out of them. Even Manti Teo's imaginary girlfriend knew it was going to be a butt kicking.

Agreed and meant completely tongue-in-cheek. It's hard living in a college town not to route for them, and the Bucks were undefeated going into the BT Championship. But after what happened against Michigan, I had more than a sneaky suspicion that Sparty would be licking his chops.

The ACC & SEC may get all the glory but the rest of us, including the Big Ten aren't doing anything to help our own argument.

Nebraska just completed the longest play in school history, and maybe in college football. 99.8 yard passing play for a TD!

Go Huskers!

Georgia fans booing NU as they run onto the field?

Classless dogs.

I didn't see the end. that's a shame if they did. Georgia was beat up pretty bad, so I didn't expect them to win. I knew I could count on them to be the SEC's first bowl loss. :rolleyes2:

Wisconsin put up more fight than I expected. The Stanford loss surprised me, but Michigan State ended the regular season with a lot of momentum.

Yep, the Spartans were on a roll, although some concern about the suspension of their defensive star. Glad it worked out ok for them. I like their coach.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the Bucks postseason play, and suspect that a lot of the things said about them were right. Easy to look good when you play guys who aren't. I suspect things won't get that much better next year. Shazier is gone (big surprise), and for what he's worth I doubt Miller will be back. He'd be a fool to not go pro. He'd be a good running back, but if he's injured next year he won't be doing anything.

There was a Michigan player who said that his team didn't play the number 3 team in the nation. Didn't loose to the number 3 team in the nation I should add, nonetheless I suspect he was on to something.

In hindsight, I've got a little more respect for the Big 10. Wisconsin and Michigan State did well. Even though Wisconsin lost, they played harder than I expected against SC. I expected Nebraska to beat UGA since the dogs have been riddled with injuries all year, but a good win nonetheless.

The SEC needs to pull this one out, it's been a tough post season so far.

About time FSU played a real football team. War Eagle!
