Looks like good VFR off to the one side.

You're gonna make it to Gaston's just fine!
TW, My brother took this picture as we were starting from the Portland, OR. area to my home base of S49. We were starting into the Columbia River gorge. We had a few low hanging clouds. But good VFR.
METARS show it may rain tomorrow.

That's as far at TAFs went then, but the progs show Friday possibility. In any case, runway may be wet even if it's not raining when we arrive Friday. That's today. 100600 is 1 AM tonight.

Best,
Dave
Due to some personal issues, I won't be making it.
Everyone be safe please.
I am near KJEF if anyone has to divert and needs something, don't hesitate to contact me.
Kent can attest, I do get up at 3 am to come get some folks from the airport while they are sitting in the back of a squad car.
im actually surprised you're even considering taking the P in there Dave.

Leaving lighter and with two hour burn will have less gas than last time I went in. I just thought if conditions were very good and I had 20 to 30 gallons a side, I might go in. I had half fuel and three pacs the time I left where it dragged out. 100 gallons x six was 600 pounds and three pacs probably totaled over 1300. With 30 a side and just left and right seat when leaving, I could be 750 and be comfortable. Thought 550 pounds lighter would be meaningful.
Less than optimum conditions, it's Ozark Regional for sure. Looks like that's where we're headed. Plane climbs much better with less than 1,200 pounds of fuel (full); and more better with less than 1/2 fuel, but you know all that.
I think when you flew with me with Ken in back we had half fuel or more when dragging out of Ozark Regional.
Best,
Dave
Sorry to hear you won't be making it, Mark. Now, two things:
1) Did you have a cabin reserved? I'll happily take your reservation so you don't lose a night's worth of $$$, and
2) I will happily attest that Mark will make it to the airport BEFORE you end up in the back of the squad car.
You got a picture of those three dumplin's?
The names have been changed to protect the innocent! Just the facts, It wasn't Jason that raised the gross weight <g>
Best,
Dave
I'll be about 148 with luggage, so there should be plenty left!Correct. I was thinking around 700 pounds of fuel (over 100 gallons) and 600 in pacs and stuff.
Best,
Dave
I figure we'll buy water in town. I've a handle of Crown packed, along with a handle of Cuervo Gold (backed off the Patron this year).I'm all packed...
Weight is everything, single or twin. I come in with 20 gallons per side max, one pax and the tent + bags.
I like being at 900 undergross. At 3500 lbs my power to wt. ratio is 8.7:1. At 4570 itsnearly 11.5:1. Makes a HUGE difference.
Just ask Bob Catsndogs.....(aka Bill) about the cherokee.
Right you are... Biggest thing I learned that day was that pushing the performance limits of your aircraft (without much margin) sure makes your friends sweat! Since that day I've always held larger margins...
