A man and woman have been charged with pointing a laser at a commercial plane at Midway Airport and then at a police helicopter sent to investigate, police said.

...A pilot reported the laser contact to the Midway control tower, which in turn called police. It wasn't known if the plane was taking off or landing.

A Chicago police helicopter was dispatched, and several beams of light were also pointed at it, police said. The helicopter crew located the source of the laser and directed police to the the 6000 block of South Stewart Avenue, police said.

Why is it that these rocket surgeons always seem to continue the fun by aiming the laser at the police chopper that's looking for them?

One could argue that, were they smart, they wouldn't be doing crap like this in the first place.
 
Excellent. Can we throw them in jail for potentially risking the lives of lots of people?
