King KX155 nav-com w/VOR-LOC, Michel MX11 com #2, King KT76A xpdr, King KLN89B panel mount GPS, King KA134 audio panel, Lowrance 2000C yoke mount GPS, 2 place Flightcom intercom (expandable to 4 place), vertical card compass.

One piece windshield STC, Cleveland wheel and brake STC. Painted 8 years ago and still in good shape. Interior is dated but solid. No rips, tears or cracks. MacFarlane heavy duty seat rails on both sides. All modern gyros that are venturi-driven. Turn and bank indicator is electric. Next annual is due 1-1-16.

The logs are weak as they only go back to the early 80s but I have all the FAA records. This is a nice example of a straight tail 172 which I have owned for 11 years and am only selling to purchase a Bonanza. Aircraft hangared at KVDF. $25,000.00

Nice deal, sounds like...

Sound like a good deal.

Gotta link some pics though.

He needs to make 5 posts, or make a request to attach links/pics.

Welcome to the board, sounds like a well kept airplane.make some posts so you can post pictures. Good luck.

Interesting, online sources, including the FAA say it's a 1956 model.

I too vote for photos.

Yes, it was built in Sept. '56 (same month and year as me, oddly enough) but sold as a '57 model which it is by serial number. Back then the next model year came out in the last half of the previous year much as cars do today. I guess I can't post pictures yet. Who can I ask to permit it?

ask 2 or 3 more really stupid questions like "how much does the avg pregnant sparrow weigh?" or "why is lefty loosey and righty tighty?" We got some know-it-alls here they will respond in like 5 seconds with all sorts of SWAG and opinions that no one cares about, you'll be good to go.

As someone said it takes five posts before you can post photos. Just make a few more nonsense posts as was suggested and then you'll be good to go.

Yes, yes indeed. CPA confirms this. It was the sixth one built for the 1957 model year. I had a '57. N7933B, SN 29733. She was a wonderful bird. Shoulda never sold it. I'd flight plan at 105 kts and it'd beat that all but on her worst days.

She is a sweet bird. Like I said, I'm only selling to buy a vintage Bonanza I have my eye on.

Not shabby looking, I'd wager it won't take long to sell

A few more

I own a '56, and I will vouch for how awesome these things are to fly. Since I've owned my straight tail I've flown in a couple of newer models and I always wish it was my straight tail

You're right, Gitmo. I've had it 11 years and it's been a great plane. It's not fast, however, and I need to speed things up as my daughter starts college in the fall 500 miles away. I will be sorry to see Ol' Betsy go for sure.

Thanks for the pictures ,looks like a nice airplane for someone, good luck.

Usually questions like that are asked and answered privately.

That.

Also 25k isn't that bad for the plane, 1800SMOH but with the new top, wouldn't be too $ to OH the bottom and she'd be worth a bit more.

Not too much worse than a Stinson 108 that distance. I've done it, it's fun. Flew my straight tail from MA to TX earlier this year.

Lol

I bought my -1 in IN and flew her back to the west coast years ago, one of the best cross countries I've ever done!

Actually it was 900 SMOH on an 1800 TBO the way I read it which makes it even better. Plus you can fly it past the 1800 easily of you take care of it.

Too bad it isn't a '58 instead of a '57, I might be interested. Being a '58 model myself, I know how good of a year it was. Though I was on the assembly line during '57. :D

Too bad your in fl. It would be a long repositioning flight to AZ

Remember no flight is longer than 1 tank of fuel. Long cross countries are just a bunch of shorter hops.

I totally misread that, not shabby at all then

If you want a '58 that bad, buy his and swap with me!

Hey...where did you get that pink headset...my wife would love those!

If you're talking about my wife's pink headset in my profile pic, I got it at:

www.powderpuffpilot.com

She has a pink flight bag to pack all her various trinkets, gadgets and snacks in for the flight, and a pink headset holder. All so she can pass out within 5 minutes of take off, wake up an hour later, play games on her ipad, read a book, then repeat

Also - forgot to add - I flew mine from indiana to Maryland upon purchase and have cross countried it from MD to GA.

I dont know any airplane that makes you feel great after flying that far, but it performed great. Same engine as mine, I have ~630 SMOH, on the way back from Jekyll Island to MD we burned ~$120 in AVGAS at 7500', leaned with a bit of a tailwind. Still an absolute steal. The last leg was from NC, north east to DE via VA, then up the coast to MD more or less. 3.5 hours.

The price is right too.
