    Indy air sales

They sold my 172G late in the peak market during Covid and got top dollar. They did an inspection before listing it and called me to say a cylinder was not making spec. I sent them a new jug I had on the shelf and they installed it for a very reasonable cost. I'm due east of them about 100...

    For Sale Stolen Avionics

Greene County Ohio airport. “The avionics that were stolen were primarily the global positioning systems (GPS) and the communications equipment," stated McNutt. "We use them for navigation and also communications with aircraft control, the towers and other operations going on.” Avionics...

    For Sale Stolen Avionics

Shoot, there was another airport hit several months ago to the north of there. We got an alert from the airport authority about it but nothing since.

    Portable Headrest

I went to an auto junkyard and bought a pair of headrests from a mid-1970's Nissan IIRC. They fit my 172G seats perfectly. Sent them to Dodd at Airtex and came back looking sharp. They even tilted back and forth.

    Fixing headrest

Years ago I went to a junkyard, found a circa 1980's Toyota and pulled the headrests. Think I paid $24 for the pair. Sent them to Airtex and he fixed them up great. The rods fit the holes in the seat perfectly.

    Cessna 182 yokes

I called Avion Research and eventually an older gentleman's voice came on the recorder saying to leave a message and they would call me back. That was almost a week ago. Josh from Aviation101 alluded 'finally' getting his while doing the recent panel upgrade on N80991. But they do look nice...

    Travel CPAP recommendations

That's a slick setup. Do you only fly solo or have you found a Y splitter so more than one person can use it? How do you power it in flight?

    Cessna 182 yokes

I also have an H with the bowtie control wheel or 'closed loop'. Some of the covering is missing on the left hand side, it's sticky and gross so I want them gone. @Redneckpilot where did you find your rams horn style, Wentworth or similar? I had the Avions in my 172 previously and they are...

    Pilot Interventions

I can attest to that! Earlier this year I had a deposit down for the Air Plains 180 conversion. One day a friend called and asked if I wanted to buy his Skylane. He got out of aviation and back into biking and hasn't looked back. Air Plains graciously refunded my deposit and my bird sold for...

Sold New in Box Spark Plugs - UREM37BY

I have 5 new-in-box Tempest UREM37BY spark plugs. They are still in the sealed tubes with copper gaskets. I purchased these from A/C Spruce over the past year or two so I'd have spares during my trips and at annual. No fouling with the extended massive electrode. A/C Spruce sells them for...

Carb heat, fouled plugs, and Lyco powered Cessnas

Wondered if someone would mention these plugs - I'm a believer. I have never had a fouled plug and the lead deposits barely register when I clean and gap them. I use Tempest UREM37BYs and have for years in both my Conti 150 and 172. I've seen what a Lycoming O235's lead-fouled plugs look like...

Class G Takeoff Weather Minimum Confusion

I was once doing TNGs at KLCK, Rickenbacker with a 12000' runway. Tower eventually had enough and told me to either land or go someplace else because he couldn't see me in the pattern. My instructor had recommended I try it in the 150 we were training in; it was good experience but not...

3658 NM Western Cross Country Help

Enroute to KGCN consider a flyby or even early lunch at UT25. You can get oxygen at KPGA then head down to GCN. Adds 50 nm but you and the missus wouldn't be disappointed by the views. One of the greatest of the many highlights of my own 'Great Western Trip'.

    Places to Eat: West Virginia?

Yep, restaurant is open. Saw Elk & wild horses just outside the airport property. The FBO manager sells rides in his ATV to tour the area.
