HIMS drug testing during travel abroad

So working for an airline would be impossible if you are on HIMS? Start a 4-day with min rest, no way you can get a drug test done in time for that. Even more impossible if you fly international.

    NOT another DUI question

It's not even ""Prove to us that you don't beat your wife", it's more like "Show us when you stopped beating your wife".

Sleep Apnea Special Issuance & CPAP SD Card Error

It took me around 5 minutes of googling and 2 minutes in a hex editor to figure out the data format. It's not encrypted in any way. Doing fake files would be super easy. And highly not recommended.

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

Damn. It used to be about $80 for landing and parking total, and they would waive the handling if you took some gas.

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

Yeah I've done that multiple times. It would be a fun taxi going to the FBO though. It's easily 30 minutes just to the L gates if they send you the long way round. I love flying in/out of ORD. As long as you know what you're doing (and you don't stop), it goes really smooth.

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

As a general KORD tip, when you're talking on the ground, just do what they tell you to do. Don't worry too much about readbacks etc. They honestly don't care if you know what you are doing. Just acknowledge the gist of what they tell you and read back runway crossings. Unless you are unsure...

    28L/10R would be a fun taxi :)

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

Before you go, please read the NOTAMs. I can bet you a large sum of money you won't get 22R.

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

Easy. I saw an Archer there a while ago. It'll be around $100 all in for the overnight.

    Incomplete Instrument Checkride

So did you tell him "I'd like sterile cockpit for this critical phase of flight"? Captain is not a snide comment. And he did you a favor if you really got a Letter of Discontinuance and not a Disapproval.

How do I identify the MAP on the LOC RWY 33?

In this case, an approach without a radar would close down KBWI. I'm not sure if that could be causing it. I don't understand why this is a radar required and an LDA/GS and not a straight ILS.

How do I identify the MAP on the LOC RWY 33?

Wouldn't it be radar required because the missed approach is partly inside class B airspace?

Tri-tip is on the East Coast

I'll try and post results. Sous vide is amazing for beef, tri tip sounds like a perfect candidate for edge-to-edge perfectioness.

Tri-tip is on the East Coast

Is there any reason why this wouldn't be 100% perfect cooked sous vide?

    Cessna 210N Questions

Is there a definitive "fact sheet" about the gear issues/rumors/faux facts? Ask anyone about a 210 and they all yell "GEAR SADDLES". What's the current situation?

    Cessna 210N Questions

Yeah, when you pull the front seats all the way back, it leans against the middle row and makes the seat back tilt a bit. But obviously that's just for getting in and out, you never fly like that. The club seating is 100% the way to go in a 'Toga/Lance/C6. With W&B, the engine is way far in the...

    Cessna 210N Questions

You've never sat in one, have you? We did a 30 hour trip with 5 adults in a Saratoga. No complaints, plenty of room. When the front seats are moved forward (as they will be), the seats are in a natural angle. And no, your W&B won't be off. You want to load the rear seats first in a 'Toga. Easy...

Airliner pressurization at high altitude airports

Not that long ago in Northern Europe a Gulfstream captain was killed when they left the APU running and closed the door for the walkaround to warm up the cabin. They missed the part about the checklist to verify outflow valve was open. FA was left inside and she was pointing out that her ears...

Airliner pressurization at high altitude airports

We can run APU bleed up to 15000ft. Most places we can do packs on, but hot/heavy/high we might need bleed from APU, or takeoff unpressurized if APU is inop.
