How thoroughly do you clean your grill?

Hardly ever. Let the next grill heat-up kill the bugs. Only when the gunk residual gets unsightly do I hit it with a brush.

    I Hate Enterprise

Enterprise has evolved into a hit or miss situation at FBOs. When they work, and are with the program, they work well. Otherwise a major headache. I suppose it has to do with the quality of the labor force at any given Enterprise location We try to use Enterprise where ever we go, still...

    Cigar cuts..??

Round hole punch for sure. Don’t carry one however. Just when available at the cigar nooks. Otherwise my good ol’ ubiquitous pocket knife can punch a descent hole via a couple of inward slits.

    Thread about actual beer

Bring me simple, light, lagers…ice cold of course. Years of playing around with all those weird boutique brews and stinking IPAs, provided me headaches, other allergy reactions and an overall never ending disappointment. Up in Colorado, for example, those liberal freak tards give me the stink...

iFly EFB questions, ipad vs android

I sold my soul to Apple some years back. Use only iPhones and iPads for anything aviation really. My one and only EFB Foreflight works flawlessly on them. Aside from any connotation of Apple controlling the human souls of all their users, I suppose I am doing okay. p.s. I remain faithful to...

2 inches bigger and I am having trouble making it fit

I’m packing an eleven incher. Plenty big for what I use it for. Any smaller and I have a hard time handing it. Use the mygoflight hardware for mounting. The two-suction cup version handles my load nicely. Off to the pilot’s side of the wind screen. A bit pricey rig, but it’s well built.

VFR Flight planning through or around DC

Took the DC airspace qual training online, as a curiosity mainly. But I am comforted in the thought that I cannot think of a single reason that would compel me to fly in that airspace. It remains a novelty.

    Quiet Birdmen

A friend located at KTDW mentioned this group whilst roasting steaks on his backyard grill one evening not long ago. Sort of a passing comment, as I was never aware of the group. I looked into it via the group’s generic email. Inquired about membership possibilities at or around KGYI, where I...

    Aviation Etiquette

All the above pretty much logical, acceptable, and sometimes humerous. But… how about this ? Let’s base our common courtesies on the reminder of how blessed, lucky, and privileged we are to have the aviation freedoms that we do in the good ol’ US of A…. juz sayin’

    Altitudes: GPS vs Pressure

Hi there. Any comments on which altitude is more ‘accurate’ ? Most times the ATC pressure altitude setting will show hundreds of feet delta to displayed GPS altitude, as we all know. How do we discuss this with ATC centers, for example, to decide which is more accurate. Droning along across...
