Having flown both, the 22's I've flown seem to cruise about 5kts faster while burning about 3gph more. With the purchase/maintenance price being much more for the 22 I'd opt for a nice RV-10 anyday.
If you want it to look good, have someone that knows what they're doing touch it up. They'll be able to match the current paint color (after fading etc) and apply it correctly.
From what I've read it's approved for balls to the wall climb (all knobs forward) just lean as you're climbing, it won't hurt to reduce RPM to 2500 to reduce noise in the climb.
Over the past 5 years (21 now.) I sold the CBR1000 before it got too cold and the KX450 is the only one I have now, just waiting for it to warm up in the Midwest!
Saw you had an S1000RR, I've always been a fan of them over the Ducati Panigale.
