PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops

I see now also that skyvector groups the remarks, in this case under "ARFF Cert:".

PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops

Is that something I can check out? In the paper Chart Supplement it's just a single block of "remarks."

PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops

Thank you for your definitive answer. Don't give me too much credit; for a first solo xc to an unfamiliar airport (and airspace, my first class D), I imagine (hope) most students are triple-checking everything.

PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops

That quote is in the middle of some info about firefighting; I wonder if it's related to that. (EDIT) Even though it says "amgr" that phone number (6666) is for the on-field fire station. It's different from the manager number listed elsewhere in the listing. So I'm guessing the PPR is if ARFF...

PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops

I'm flying to an airport (KITH) tomorrow with this note in the chart supplement: "PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops" (writing it out for the PoA search engine; "Prior permission required 24 hours for unscheduled aircraft operations") Unlike the more common "PPR 24 hrs for unsked acft ops with more...

No idea, there's no trial or sample or anything. Amazon reviews of the book are not good.

    Favorite destination directories

Here's one that costs money, I haven't tried it: http://www.100dollarhamburger.com/ - the "new edition" came out in 2019... And another google map someone made: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?hl=en&mid=1EHedgmf-GQKdHb9m5dWMqAIkzeY At our flying club we maintain a google spreadsheet...

Student Pilot radio comms and Class C -- step-by-step in chronological order

I'm out of new-member purgatory so I can post this link. This is a quick-and-dirty script for running through a class C arrival and departure with a partner. The partner reads all the stuff in bold, you grab a notepad and reply like you're in the plane. The phraseology is based on what my CFI...

Any Fun/challenging places to fly in PA/southern NY

Sky Acres was mentioned above, they have a great restaurant (get a reservation) and are a nice place to stop for lunch after doing the skyline route. Pretty serious slope on the taxiway there, exit midfield if you can.

First day of flight training in a week and I still need a headset—what are your suggestions?

I haven't seen my headset mentioned, the David Clark H10-13X. They're the normal DC's, with great passive hearing protection, plus they have electronic noise cancellation in a little 9V-powered box. The ANC isn't as good as Bose or Lightspeed, but it doesn't need to be since the passive...

Student Pilot radio comms and Class C -- step-by-step in chronological order

Hah, there's system requirements on the listing at Aircraft Spruce: 486/66 MHz PC processor 16 MB RAM 6 MB hard drive space This literally describes my first computer, a Packard Bell. Though we eventually upgraded to 20MB of RAM.

Student Pilot radio comms and Class C -- step-by-step in chronological order

Does it work on windows 11/10? If I had a CD-ROM drive, that is. Many of the reviews talk about it not working any more.

Student Pilot radio comms and Class C -- step-by-step in chronological order

I made a script (can't post a link, too new) that my wife could use to play ATC flying to and departing from a Class C. My CFI told me I need to sound less like I know what I'm doing so ATC will slow down.
