    @ 1000 hrs - Need some Advice

A private pilot may not pay less than the pro rata share of the operating expenses of a flight with passengers, provided the expenses involve only fuel, oil, airport expenditures, or rental fees. So, how exactly does your business do this reimbursing? I need to pass this information on to my CPA.

Paid $1,200 for mine the first of five years active duty. Received back $6,000 to go to HVAC tech school. It is a nice program.

    To Insure or not?

I just love having a bunch of old vehicles(bad assets), a small(by today's standards) 17 yr old, paid for house, an S Corp(more bad assets), a bunch of bee hives(more bad assets).

Does anyone have Dana's phone number?

The cute tour guide's "hello kitty" helmet is cracked open. She better hold on tighter.

Plane in reservoir SW of Berthod CO

From the damage to the LE, it looks like they came in steep and fast. If at night, maybe they got disoriented. The only reason I would intentionally land in the water would be due to an in-flight fire that I could not get put out by shutting the fuel off or if fire entered the cabin. My condolences.

$625 vs $2400 on $160K hull. No small amount to me.

RV-10 Build Error & LOC Lawsuit Dismissed

Many builders will not ask for free help, advice or just a QC inspection. Although I spent 5 yrs as a UH-60 crewchief, 4 yrs overhauling Allison/P&W turbine engines, and 18 in the HVAC business...I still had no less than 8 other builders/A&P's and finally the DAR look my plane over. The one DAR...

    Insurance maximums too low?

Some pilots like to offer rides to anyone and everyone on facebook or at the airport. I used to think that would be awesome in flight training. Not anymore. I just open my gull-wing doors with "EXPERIMENTAL" in big black letters. See, you don't really want to fly with me in a plane my family...

    Insurance maximums too low?

Liability only on anything of ours older than 5 yrs and rarely have auto or plane passengers other than immediate family and CFI that flies EAB too. I dislike property/health insurance about as much as paying interest on a loan(interest-free since 2008).

    Too high

Mine does not want to come down very well from being too high on final, without full flaps, constant speed prop in fine pitch and slipping. And then they don't drop like the 172 unless I get under 70 kts, behind the power curve.

RV-10 Build Error & LOC Lawsuit Dismissed

I think the survivor was his step-daughter, sitting in right rear seat. 4 yr old in Graco car seat on left rear. Baggage in copilot seat. Stall spun to the left.

RV-10 Build Error & LOC Lawsuit Dismissed

I think I had 10 ea pipe thread connections and 20 ea flare connections in my upgraded 5052 Al tubing(kit comes with 3003 soft Al). Lots of room for builder error in the fuel system, hence the large amount of EAB accidents compared to certified due to fuel exhaustion. There are several more...
