Nothing against those to have/want (actually a bit thankful). Nothing against those who don't. I admit our no-kid reasons are selfish and I am a little ashamed by that, but I'd never assume to know why someone elects to not have kids.

An earlier post mentioned landing with the nacelles in flight mode (emergency situation). I recall reading the props are designed to fragment like "broomstraw" in that case.

That has the potential to inspire a great beer commercial.... If I did not know any better, it looked like the guy offloaded was delivering a volleyball. :)

Henning - remember the fire at the Broward yard in the 90's? Many pools of melted AL after that one. Not sure about it burning.

There are a lot of benefits to amex platinum, but they only have value if you use them. We looked very carefully at upgrading from our gold "rewards plus", but it did not make sense for us. I did, a few years ago before a trip to Ireland, upgrade to platinum for a points and fee promotion...

My wife and I did Precheck, but no through Global Entry. I think ours expires in 5 years. We'll probably go with GE next time even though we only travel internationally every couple years. Having pre-check is nice. Flying my own plane some day will be nicer.

Care to share those organizations? Maybe a whole new thread that covers charitable orgs for which we can fly, their restrictions, and some personal experiences with the parent org could be a great thread.

Henning, remember the "Parts" yachts? I, II, III, IV, etc? Wasn't that the son of a junk yard owner who computerizd the operation? Gary Blonder, I believe. His reputation is, ahem cough cough, less than stellar these days .... Big money in that biz....

Looks like a cross between a North American Bedhog and an English Shedder... Same as mine, but looks totally different.
