Good luck on getting back into the sky. I haven't flown since December 6 because of holiday traveling and weather and the flight school being booked. I was on the schedule last Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday and all three days were cancelled due to weather. I am very close to taking my...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

What I like to do is when on the computer at home pull up liveatc.net and go to my home airport for listening to the tower and at the same time go to flightradar24.com and view the traffic at this same airport. They are not always in sync but it's fun to listen and watch traffic at the same time.

Purchase Cessna 172? Best CFI in Jacksonville, FL

Holladay Aviation is great and I am training for my PPL out of Craig right now with Dana Holladay. As others have said he is a great instructor. I am getting very close to taking my checkride. The training cost is $70 per hour and the C152 I've been using is $115 per hour wet. I think if you...

Need some help choosing an online ground school

The King course that I used is called "Cessna Sport/Private Pilot Course". It's an online course that now lists for $384. Retail was $379 when I purchased but I got it for $310 as it was on sale. It worked well for me.

Final solo cross country today (CRG-BQK-CRG) of 1.9 hours. I've completed all requirements except the 3 hours of prep for checkride. Total hours right now is 39.3 and I think I will be ready when I get to about 50 hours.

Can we talk about VFR flight following?

So, to clarify the process in the below scenario: I'm at my Class D and getting ready to depart. Call ground and make the VFR FF request (ground gives me code to enter at this time which I do). Once I get to runup I switch to tower. After taking off tower tells me when to switch to FF frequency?

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Thanks for the info. I am now planning on doing this similar as you. Do you already have your ticket or are you preparing for it? I'm thinking I will not use a sectional chart (but maybe keep on an old one for emergency), plotter, E6B after I get my ticket.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

The night cross country time can also be used to fulfill the requirement of "3 hours of cross country flight training in a single engine airplane"
