    Ready to Get Serious...I Think

Thank you, all. I need to keep it below 60k. Idaho offers a lot of different types of flying, but I am not qualified for the back country stuff. I travel quite a bit and am very active in a women's pilot organization. Mechanical things intrigue me, but my skills are virtually non-existent in...

    Ready to Get Serious...I Think

I am just starting. It has been suggested I get an online membership to Trade-a-Plane. I will do that this evening. Ebay? craigslist?

    Ready to Get Serious...I Think

I am beginning to look for an airplane. My capabilities at this point fall in the C150/152 range. Here are my thoughts so far: C150/152: affordable, easy to fly, low fuel burn, could rent if I need something bigger C172: more expensive, but could actually invite a px, I am signed up to...

    Let's look in your wallet.

Bills face up, heads up, smallest on top. Just returned home from a trip and have some Mexican pesos, some Chilean pesos, and some euros. But I only went to Mexico. Perhaps I need to look at my change a little closer? :D And I only carry a small purse, if necessary, and always matching. If...

    True Softfield Practice

I really regret that I didn't have a chance to take a pic. The snow was gone the next day. It was a rare opportunity.

    True Softfield Practice

This last year has not been a good flying year for me. However, this last week I was able to escape the bonds of earth and get a little pattern practice in....in 4" OF SNOW! It was my first true soft field landings and takeoffs. Fun! :D

Sorry, I don't have the guts for this Airport

Wow! Way out of my league.

What's it look like where you live?

This is from a couple of summers ago. Right now the valley is grey and the mountains are white. I live just in front of where the strut meets the river.

    Bring your OWN CUPS!!

That would be a bit...cumbersome. Especially if everyone started doing it. I should start marketing some kind of travel kit: pillow, blanket, coffee maker and mug...and it all fits in a 5" x 5" bag. :D

    Bring your OWN CUPS!!

AAAUUUUUUGHHHHH!!! I stopped making coffee "in room" after I found strange grit in the basket once. But, like Mari, I am rarely sick. And I have a good supply of tents, back seats, and an old but trusty rv for the shorter trips.

    Bring your OWN CUPS!!

Oh, I feel sick. And re the hotels w/ plastic cups...I did start carrying my own coffee mug.

    I got a Cessna 180 for Christmas

And here is my collection. The little man fits inside the airplane on the right.

OK, what was the first plane where you sat in the pilot's seat?

    C150 4 1/2 years ago. I logged it. :D

    Grass Runway Landing Training

Grass strip training was allowed with the airplane I rented. Unfortunately, they paved the nearest grass strip six months before my training. Most of the grass strips here require some mountain flying skills, although there are a couple I would feel comfortable using.

    Sailor roll call!

It was VERY fun. Unfortunately I'd have to beg and grovel to get the guy to take me again. His is a driveway ornament.

    Do you run?

Picked up my bike from REI. They tuned it, said it was a good bike for it's era. It still has lever shifters, as opposed to the new push buttons. I guess I have a true touring bike. It has a longer wheel base, so I can't turn quite as sharply. I didn't think that was going to be a problem...

    Do you run?

My bike (Nishiki) was given to me by someone cleaning out their pile of junk. It's a touring bike. It's green. I took it to REI for a tune-up and advice...I am picking it up today. People have told me that the right bike makes all the difference. But, how does one figure that out? Maybe...
