Van's RV-10 down in Marin Headlands - two dead

According to this track, the RV was just 140 feet away from hitting the Golden Gate Bridge. I think he was in imc at that point. I doubt he was site seeing being that close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Van's RV-10 down in Marin Headlands - two dead

It was pretty foggy by the golden gate yesterday. The plane came down in some pretty steep terrain. Doesn’t look like it spun in though. They were on live ATC asking for flight following to half moon bay which is a few miles south of the golden gate. NorCal told them to stay clear of the bravo...

Van's RV-10 down in Marin Headlands - two dead

Very sad. Looks like a possible VFR into IMC. Fog was thick by the golden gate today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Station air down Marlin TX

They got really slow during a few of those turns. Stall speed in level flight in a 206 is 47 knots. 60 degree bank it’s over 60 knots. Could this be a moose stall? From the looks of the wreckage they came in pretty vertical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Comanche in Turbulence awful compared to everything I've flown.

Try flying an RV9 like mine. Wing loading in my plane is 13.6 with just me in it and full tanks. I’m like a leaf in the wind! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Any of you fly in Calif?

Oceano is one of my all time favorite spots. The runway never seemed too short as long as you’re on the numbers. Fast forward to the end of the video to see how much a few RVs and a Comanche use flying out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Jet Blue Tailstrike

Here is what it sounded like inside the plane I’m thinking they saw the plane in final after the takeoff roll started and tried to get in the air quickly. Crazy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    210 in flames at PDK

Looks like the lawyers watch Dan Gryder. Also. It’s pretty easy to get a 210 turboprop conversion into aft CG. Also more right rudder for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Gullstream down in Dominican Republic

Not very often you hear of a gulfstream crashing. There was video of it. Looked almost like it was having a flight control issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Duke down and on fire, Fullerton CA

I’ve had this same thing happen. The auto pilot was engaged. I hit the blue button on accident right before the takeoff roll. Aborted the takeoff and soon there after figured it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Rent a plane on Maui or Big Island?

Tropic Bird flight service at Kona on the big island was awesome. One of the coolest flights I have ever done. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Mooney Down WA

There’s a thread on mooneyspace about it. He requested a climb to 19k to get out of some icing. Then no one heard from him again. The plane had TKS but was not equipped with FIKi Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    What Is Hard IFR?

I thinks it’s IMC with convective stuff hanging around. More than green radar returns, icing, etc. Where I live we get a marine layer often and I do approaches down to minimums all the time. I wouldn’t call it hard IFR at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Cessna down at KUKI

I hadn’t heard the no seatbelt theory yet but I did hear from a solid source he did not have his shoulder belts on. Looking at the data and seeing him slow down to 54 knots, then speed up to 62 before crashing coupled with the flaps raised up makes me wonder if this was a botched go around. The...

    Cessna down at KUKI

Looks like the plane was on speed on short final. 67 knots. On a side note, the runway at Ukiah is rough for being paved. Interesting that it was 54 knots at the hash marks, then sped up to 62 knots before veering off the runway and coming to an abrupt stop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Cessna down at KUKI

The plane took off from my home airport. Rumor has it that it was a student on a cross country solo. The plane was from our local flight school. I know it was equipped with shoulder harnesses. Not sure what could have happened. So sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Removing goggles on IR checkride

I puked my guts out on my checkride. It was a bumpy day, I fight motion sickness like crazy, and unusual attitudes did me in. Had to do my last approach into Chico partial panel and puking. DPE asked if I wanted to finish at another time. I told him no and that someday I might have to land while...
