I've never owned an airplane and after a lot of thought, good advice in this thread and reading a great article in the latest Flying magazine, I've settled on a Mooney as my choice. Thanks to the advice here, I'm pretty sure I want an early one with the Johnson bar landing gear mechanism, which...
No, it just happens to be my only option at the moment. I know, credit card companies can be as bad, but unlike Paypal, they actually investigate the transaction. Paypal just sides with the Buyer, no matter what the evidence in my experience.
My experiences have been along these lines. I've been selling on Ebay for a very long time. Paypal does hold on to your money until you have enough selling experience and that sucks, but I understand why they do it. It prevents Sellers from pulling the old "dump and dash".
I do have to agree...
I work at a PBS station on the television side and radio is just steps from my department. So the on air talent can monitor air while on bathroom breaks and such, the station is piped into the kitchen and bathroom. I've been here 10 years and as I've become more educated about classical...

Whenever a guy in my presence is acting too soft, I say to my buddies, "Do you guys smell something pink?"
I don't need as many seats, but I really love the RV-9. My issue is, for every one A&P I can find that will work on the RV-9, there are a dozen local A&Ps that can fix a Cherokee 236.
I saw an RV6 in person once. I was a little freaked out by how small it was. I hear their lightning fast, though.
Does the Grumman Tiger actually meet the standards of it's legend? I've heard pretty special things about them.
I'm not trying to take this conversation in this direction, but I would agree if RV was building every RV. Sometimes an RV is built by some half committed weekend warrior, and I don't trust myself to be able to tell the difference between the two.
After a lot of agonizing over RV-9s and such, I've decided on a certificated plane because I would imagine the safety standards are consistent from aircraft to aircraft. I don't trust myself to build or evaluate what's been built.
My budget is $60k and I may at some point, be able to convince...
