It’s not far from downtown Columbia, which has hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. We have good Uber coverage and the FBO has courtesy cars. It’s a very nice airport.

I am based at KCUB - H-G is nice, they really did justice to the character of the building. Good place to get a cold beer after a hot flight (or doing maintenance in a hot hangar).

MQI would be my choice. Rental car is no problem, call the airport to set it up. Great airport, good people, reasonable fuel prices, cool airplanes. Traffic speed should be about the same either way, so the shorter route should be faster. Recommend lunch at Blue Water Inn at Pirate’s Cove just...

Agreed- I did my first couple long flights recently where cloud coverage was an issue. I deviated a little from course to stay on the edge of the thicker coverage, or only went straight over it when I could see where it ended either visually or by checking AWOS at airports around me. Also...

Most people go through this! That is exactly what happened to me, but I am very glad I stuck with it. Half of learning to fly Is just getting used to physically being in the plane and in the air. The nausea doesn’t last but for a couple lessons. Fly early in the morning.

I suggest you consider joining EAA and doing some Young Eagles flights. Lots of fun and a good way to give back.

Sounds like a good number of these reports are successful off-field landings, not crashes. Still sorry for the losses.
