    Luscombe Adventures

Love the video. I enjoyed reading your updates from this trip, but now getting the videos will be icing. Completely curious; what is the huge bottle of windex for? For all I know, you have glass windows in areas on a Luscombe. I'm sure you are not spraying that on plexiglass.

    Sheepskin Seat Covers

@Briar Rabbit , I’m not so savvy at POA. I think I Sent you a PM. Technically, I started a “conversation”. I’m interested.

Where to Next?! Planting the Seed for the Next Tour

I’m not sure my information is still accurate but about 18 months ago the current Mexican administration turned a lot of their international airports into regionals. That kind of killed my plans of flying to Cuernavaca direct; lots of friends in that city. In all honesty, it’s been a year since...

When you're snowed in and bored

Sooooo...who else had to Google what a CNC machine was...?! I’ll admit it.

Route tips from Houston to North Florida along the Gulf Coast

I see two with a small tie down lot to the east of the field. One Motel 6 and a Days Inn by Wyndham.

    How to find the bathroom

I guess I should note the FBO was closed and no code for the door! Not just teaching our son Boy Scout techniques.

    How to find the bathroom

To the OP, I get it. We finally had our nine year old drop a load right by an FBO. I can promise their landscaping team wished they had better signage...

Portable power for un powered hangar

That Aldi knockoff of the Honda generator is perfect, especially if you bought one of the last three on clearance for half price; $150.... It runs fine on standard gas. Now I’m intrigued to try 100LL in it after some suggestions. I don’t have a hangar (waitlist), so I’ve found a lot of the...

Portable power for un powered hangar

For filling tires, I’ve found the 18V inflators sold by the various cordless drill makers (Ryobi, Milwaukee, etc.) great options, accurate on the psi and fast.

    4 Seaters to save for?

No way you are gonna get 200 pounds of luggage and four adults and then use the phrase “bang for buck”. Just to break the ice, I’ll say Bonanza but definitely an A36 and it’ll cost you. I agree. 200 pounds is a lot of gear.

    The Cirrus factor

Don’t get all the shade. I know several Cirrus pilots and a ton of non-Cirrus pilots. Found very few morons and definitely the minority of all pilots I know. No attitude issues with the few Cirri guys. Seems some are mad that the company has shown up Beech (what I fly) and Textron. I don’t have...

    6 Seat Cessna's

I know I’m in the minority, but I too am tempted by the 337. Loud as crap from what I’m told. I try to listen to the people with decades more experience than me (just bought a Bonanza!), but I wonder how many parts are impossible/expensive to find. Not buying/just intrigued.

    Memorable Resturants on/near field

Barnstormers as noted above is a great experience. One place I’ll spend more time preflighting, flying and at tie down than driving. I still seem to fly every time.

    Memorable Resturants on/near field

We’ve had these threads several times. Flying Machine at KLZU and Runway Cafe at KGMU. We, maybe weird, prefer to grab a crew car and visit towns/restaurants nearby. Feels more like full trip and provides the fam with a bit bigger break. Done that a lot.

    Wow, that’s awesome. Congrats Karl!

Depressing to think, but at that price I can’t afford a unairworthy Saratoga, LOL!

    Flying to Iceland

I flew right seat in a Merlin IV 20 some years ago. Richmond (VA), Bangor, Goose Bay, Reykjavik. Incredible views flying over Greenland.

Thinking of downsizing to a fun 2 seater

I’m assuming removing the back seat of the Arrow wouldn’t scratch the itch... it would put you in the Utility category I think.

How many pre-buys did you have to do?

Had one on a plane I decided to walk from, one on the first I bought, and a more cursory one on my next plane.
