How easy is it to get a transition across MDW? I'm planning a birthday flight to Pilot Pete's from KETB, but heading down the lakefront (first time) and then around MDW to Schaumburg. It wouldn't save too much time if I could get a transition, but it would be more scenic!

I'm a non-owner, day-dreaming, window-shopper, and am curious how much of a deterrent something like a gear-up landing is. It's something to make you cringe initially, but after documented repairs are made, is it really something to worry about later? :dunno:
