Arrow best glide and gear down?

Now I feel like a dumb a$$ for not realizing that everyone in this thread was talking kts instead of mph.... stupid piper for having to make some things in mph... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Arrow best glide and gear down?

Figured I'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one (damned if you dont, damned if you do). I'm working on getting all the arrows systems crammed in my head and knowing the speeds cold. Everything is what I remember learning.... except best glide. The plane: 1975 Arrow II (pa-28r-200...

Interesting Google Map Trick - You probably already know

It's nice that you can even do some of the 'lesser' known airports (that one's that don't start with K such as W35) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

    Becoming a CFI

Thanks for all the tips! CFII is going to happen right after the cfi initial. I've been reading through all the FAA stuff (include the CFI manual). Hard to read it like a normal book, so I mix it up a little. Other pilots are great aren't they? Free to use, they can play dumb (for some that...

    Becoming a CFI

I have a decent amount set aside lol. Although not as much as what you needed for all that multi stuff. Plus I'm flying in my own (complex) plane, which really helps reduce the cost.

    Air Conditioning in a C172 or PA28?

I just looked ours up yesterday. 68.6 lbs. And yes, off for takeoff, but you could turn it on in the climb if you wanted to.

    Air Conditioning in a C172 or PA28?

Love the factory a/c in our arrow, even though it adds between 60- 80# as stated before, I haven't looked at the poh recently to see the actual weigh. But the a/c works great on the ground, especially during longer taxis.

Transient Tie downs, or lack there of.

Yes, they will send a letter to whoever the aircraft is registered to when they look up an N#..... our partnership got a letter from a flight I did. Tried to charge my little PA-28R (which when I called and when I landed and paid my fuel bill said was free) the price of a pa-46... Once I called...

    When dreams come true... (long)

I was just curious. I assumed it would be ok since he's posted about it, but didn't know how much it could actually be done since there is a limit to the amount of hours you can log commercially. Definitely wouldn't let that dissuade me from 121.

    H. Which receipt is yours?

Wow, that one Fuel bill is close to a years worth of mx/hangar/misc. expenses for the arrow!

    Garmin 345 ADS-B cost?

There's definitely cheaper/better ways to do it. This was just the first look at things. Plus, in all honesty, we probably won't make a final decision until next year (2017) sometime. So I'm sure more boxes will come to the market, and opinions of the other partners will change.

    Garmin 345 ADS-B cost?

Our arrow has a 430 (non-waas) and a gtx 327. We started looking at our options. Shop quoted us both assuming we upgrade our 430 to waas, and assuming we didn't. Assuming we didn't: Gtx 345: $5434 (Gtx 345 withoutnj gps: $4683) Encoder: 262 Misc. 195 Labor: 3000 So all in just shy of $9,000...
