In the back of my mind, I know it's a bad idea.

Quick, go pull the chute on the cirrus so he can cover it all with!

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

Good to know! Although I'm just looking for budgeting purposes I'll be sure to remember that if I'm ever in a plane and it needs an OH.

Thanks for the extra data point.

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

The second one didn't mention much but the pen Yan listed a good amount of info. What they do say is "Overhauled to Lycoming’s New Engine Fits and Tolerances, as a Minimum"

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

Yeah and that's what we're looking for is just budgeting purposes right now.

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

Thanks! I saw their website, but didn't see an estimated cost section. I'll give them a call to see what they say. Those were done the same time some other hoses were done I believe.... But all good things to add to an estimated cost. Thanks!

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

So the Pen Yan says it includes (skipping lots of things, but answering your question) oil hoses, new skytech starter (although we might need a new one within the next few weeks/months... I should create another thread to ask that question), new slick mags, new fuel pump. I'm not sure what all...

    Lycoming IO-360 (C1C) Overhaul cost

Tried searching for this but surprisingly couldn't find anything (recent that is). My partnership is looking at adjusting the hourly (TACH) rate for our engine reserve. What I'm trying to do is figure out an overhaul cost for our engine. It's the 200 hp Lycoming IO-360-c1c engine in our Arrow...

If I buy an ipad, how long before it becomes obsolete?

I think apple is planning on updating/revamping the ipad sometime this year. Some reports say March, so say April or may. So depending on your timeline (or preferences) it might be best to wait.

    February TFR's

I'll be curious to see how much the new POTUS uses Camp David/ p-40. Kinda puts a (slight) damper on things at our airport when he's there. Although I'm told Former pres. Obama didn't use it as much as former Pres. Bush did.

Congrats! How many hours did you spend in the plane for the endorsement?

    You can always go around

Might make listening to that a half dozen times one of the pre solo requirements for my students once I get my cfi lol.

Is going for the Gold Seal worth it?

Where does one find those statistics? Faa.gov?

Is going for the Gold Seal worth it?

Really? I thought it was actually a little stricter for ground instructors (whether agi, igi, or bgi). I think You had to submit a letter/report showing current activity as a ground instructor every 12 months. I don't have the regs in front of me right now, but I know it's under the 'ground...

    To Commercial and beyond!

Thanks! I went ahead and called the dpe just to ask him some questions anyways, it's a different one than I've used before since my guy can't do CFI rides yet, and he told me to call. In all honesty, it doesn't matter to me who does the ride. Yeah, I know the FSDO is usually tougher, but the dpe...

    To Commercial and beyond!

Too the last few days to re group myself and figure out a good balance between life, flying, and school. Met with my instructor to share with him some thoughts on my training too. Aiming to be ready for the cfi by the end of Feb. Half the work is done, I just need to get more comfortable in the...

    Dulles Push Times?

57 gallons of fuel? How much per gallon? I've started landing short of my destination (or just past it if necessary) if the fuel price on the field is rediculous. For example, my trip to RDU I've flown past to HRJ, only adds about 30 minutes of fly time, but the with a cost difference of about...

I know in our Arrow I can feel when the nose gears locks down through the rudder pedals. Maybe that's what the OP ment?

Not sure where you're located but I know of two places in the eastern part of MD that can do spin training. Congrats on passing your commercial!

Enjoy getting the endorsement. I love the gear design in the arrow. Very stable aircraft too, but you probably have that in your 182 as well. Are you doing this for your commercial license or just to do it?
