    EAA J3 Winner Announced.

That’s completely bogus. Clearly you know nothing about sweepstakes rules in every state. Sweepstakes are highly scrutinized by state attorneys general who salivate about the idea of fining organizations that violate their complex rules. AOPA hires a specialty firm to manage its sweepstakes...

    Flying a PA/32 on BasicMed

Aeronautix had zero particpation in the development of AOPA's STC and any suggestion to the contrary is a complete fabrication. As for the question about what AOPA was doing between March and June, great question! I was in favor of releasing the STC right away, but this is the first STC AOPA...

    Flying a PA/32 on BasicMed

AOPA has been working on this for many months, at the request of AOPA members. The STC application was filed on Feb. 14 and the FAA issued it to AOPA on March 2, three months before the Aeronautix STC was issued. It is coincidental that both were announced this week.

How to avoid FBO fees at Stewart KSWF?

You might be interested in this article posted on AOPA's Website today--AOPA files official complaints with FAA regarding high fees at three airports, asking for FAA investigation. All three happen to be Signature locations...

Can we quickly compare AOPA's Membership to EAA's

Hmmm... I just follwed your same steps at KOSH for the same procedures and on my Mac desktop using Safari it worked perfectly. Same thing on a PC with Windows 10 and Chrome. I see the .pl file, but it opened just fine and is ready to print the two procedures, which are in one file. Is your...

Can we quickly compare AOPA's Membership to EAA's

I checked with AOPA's IT staff on this and here is their response: There isn't anything broken with the Airports directory and the process works the same as it has for several years. What happens is members overlook the two words next to the "Single PDF" link. Those words are: "Download...

AOPA Life Insurance is a joke!

Orange, please PM me your name, address, and email. I've been talking to our insurance staff about this. AOPA does not offer any insurance products that exclude aviation. I will put you in touch with the right people at AOPA to sort it out. There is a miscommunication or misunderstanding...

    AOPA Membership Dues increase

We probably have 8-10 in primary training at any one time and others working on additional ratings and many others maintaining proficiency.

    AOPA Membership Dues increase

One of the 152s is our next sweepstakes airplane. The others are part of our You Can Fly Project, funded by a donor. They are already rebuilt or are being rebuilt by Aviat as part of the Reimagined program. They will be used around the country by our ambassadors. They will be bringing high...

    Pilot's Bill of Rights Change

Lots to be worked out yet, but there is some speculation that a student would have to get a medical certificate once and then could let it expire.

    Pilot's Bill of Rights Change

Pilots Bill of Rights 2 Introduced. Includes third class medical reform with IFR, six seats, 6,000-pound airplanes to 14,000 feet. If passed, becomes law automatically if FAA doesn't implement the change on its own.

AOPA no longer uses Bank of America. AOPA Finance uses a variety of banks to find the best deal for the individual's circumstance.

Mogan Freeman got his Pilots License at 65 years old?

He is a very nice guy. Here's a link to a behind-the-scenes video we did when filming some GA Serves America ads a few years ago. It is the bottom video viewer on the page. He was very generous with his time and his airplanes...

    Project Pilot

Marty, While most everyone thought Project Pilot was a good idea, almost no one participated in the program and when pilots would volunteer to mentor a student, usually they quickly lost interest and didn't interact much with the student. AOPA originally launched the program in about...
