    This is it.......

One should know his audience before posting, my lesson is learned, no matter what I write I will never match the imagination of a commercial pilot. :)

    Garmin 750 with 650

You guys are spot on. My 750 is connected to the Com1. I do not have a separate breaker for the audio panel. When I pull the CB for com 1, I lose communication in my 750 but I still can toggle (the GMA 35?) to com2. My transponder squawk is still working in the 750 and 650. When I pull the...

    Garmin 750 with 650

Simply put, my audio panel is part of the Garmin 750. The 750 and 650 each has (2) com freq's. I normally program the 750 coms for my air flight, and my 650 coms for ground (weather, tower, ground). Staying ahead of the plane. while practicing different type failures: I pulled the breakers...

    Garmin 750 with 650

I have Garmins 500, 750, and 650, the 750 and 650 are cross filled. Today I pulled the breaker on the GPS1 750 to proof the coms/nav would default to the 650. It didn’t happen, which makes me think I have a issue with how my garmins are configured. I plan to call Garmin tomorrow but thought...

Should I alert the FAA about my so called friend?

Stop calling him a friend. Obviously, he told u this information in a moment of trust unless you dug thru his personal stuff and found it.

    Class 3 vs class 2

U can get a 2nd class and after a year if not renewed becomes like a third class that u can fly under for another year per your stated age of 42..check with your AME to be sure. Other than some bragging rights, no use getting one unless u really need it.

    This is it.......

Wife and I was flying IFR from TJBQ to KFLL spring 2016. I had filed for 10k @ 165k in my PA24 and with my tip tanks, had 116 gal useable. Fairly straight flight once I reached altitude on A555, ForeFlight indicated 5.5 hr trip with 101 gal burn, conservative numbers the fuel burn per past...

Flying to the Dominican Republic in the Kodiak

Before I put on my tip tanks I had 86 gallons useable and would fly Florida to T&C, Osborne tip tanks gave me another 30 gals and I would fly from Florida to Aguadilla PR. Bahamas there is no radar so careful of storms.

Flying to the Dominican Republic in the Kodiak

I kindly disagree, I found St Kitts to be the least friendly of all the islands I have flown and I have flown most of them over the past 5 years. Now if you had stated Trinidad is the most expensive including the handler fees than the other islands, I would agree. I landed at POS in a PA24 in...

Flying to the Dominican Republic in the Kodiak

If you have the time and have made it that far, might as well start island hopping all the way to Trinidad.

    Gear Up Emergency Landing PA-24-250

The $60K slide. my guess is his mixture cable was not secured and got hung up in the nose gear mechanism. Check under the cowling for cable rubs..... should be a self imposed preflight requirement.
